How does Steadfast (Blacksmith's passive) work ?
The wiki's description says that the game first checks your evasion, and then how much health you would lose (according to it, between 7% and 22%), which isn't very clear. Googling it didn't yield anything either. Does anyone know which stat(s) makes Steadfast proc more often ?

Steadfast isn't a stat. It requires a shield to be equipped and the chapter cannot be stunned or entangled.

There are two rolls: the first is pretty much the same as an evasion roll (whatever % evasion is), and the second is a percentage based on remaining health (if the attack hits) divided by your current health. The percentage for this roll will never be below 7 or above 22. If either roll succeeds, steadfast is triggered.

If you want to maximize this, boost evasion, as that will increase the chance for the first roll to succeed.

So Steadfast replaces evasion? Or do you roll to evade, then roll the two steadfast checks(evasion, percentage 7%-22%)?

Evasion is rolled first, then the two rolls for steadfast are made.

This seems somewhat OP then. Just a high evasion character with steadfast gives you twice the evasion chance at negating all damage. Something i might have to try.

That is probably part of why the blacksmith starts off with one of the lowest evasions.

Still, a very strong strategy. If the opponent never hits, no need to worry!
