Is the Lost Civilization DLC good or bad?

Is its difficulty fair but challenging, or unfair and broken like half of the reviews say?

I'd say it is well-balanced. Most of the complaints are against the new debuffs: petrify and diseases. Some items grant immunity to one or the other. Also, Panax heals diseases, of which it is always a good idea to have a couple on hand. The diseases themselves aren't too bad, basically trading a stat or two for another. Petrify is harder to overcome, since the turn is completely skipped, but no damage can be taken in the meantime. High speed and petrify immunity are the best options. Two petrified party members can be a problem, so avoiding that is almost obligatory.

The campaign is fun, the new weapons are cool, so's the Astronomer, and the Gladiator just rocks. Wouldn't want to go back to play without these.

Most complaints are from before they nerfed golems and diseases - due to said complaints. Since then, imho it's fine, just like squirleybob said.

It was overtuned at the start. Overall I think its good. That being said, I *hate* seeing the new enemy types in game modes like Cellar. So many of them are much stronger than the base game enemies.

Back in the day when i played this for the first few runs, level curve on early encounter seems off even on apprentice difficulty. When you already optimize xp grind, you lack 1-2 level behind your enemy. I countered it pretty okay, but the level curving was off. Idk if the golem nerf take part of this, but i could say it's slightly harder than original campaign due to steeper level curve early game. In the middle game to the end, it start to flat and start to get balanced though...

@bluelightning: If you're talking about the campaign specifically - all campaigns are easier than the original FtK campaign, including Lost Civilization (as it is now).
