Reflect damage?

Does damage reflection actually reflects or riposte damage?
I mean, if I had 6 damage reflection and were attacked for 10 damage:

-would I get hit for 4 damage and the other 6 goes back to the enemy?

or

- would I get hit by 10 and then enemy gets hit by 6?

Also, would the reflected damage be unmitigated?

Damage reflect does not provide defenses. And it doesnt reflect on every enemy attack. Ranged attacks and spell-type attacks do not incur reflect.
If you have 6 reflect, and the enemy hits you for 10, you take 10 and they take 6. The damage is unmitigated and undodgable.
