Into the deep: How the freak to kill sea king without ship destruction ?

So I've tried to fight him a few times; i manage to kill the two tenaticles but he always destroys my ship (even the special ship we can get via doing all the pirate caves). I tried to collect enough repair kits but he does so much damage the ship still sinks. I had hoped by killing both tenaticle when i go back they wiould still be dead but they reappear. Naturally since the 'special' ship was destroy any other ship i buy will be even weaker.

Is there some special trick to this fight ?

he didnt even touch me play reset weapon and buy some repair kit and its gg

My group did it by focusing on killing him first and his tentacles second. We didn't even need any repair kits at all.

Well not sure what is happening because he (and the tenaticles) frequently damage my ship. It would take about 10 to 15 kits for me to survive.

For the record I finally did kill him but in that play i started collecting repair kits at level 0 when they were cheap. By the time I did the fight I Had 12 and used 9 and the ship had 4 hit points left.

I did it with a team lv10-11, i focused 1 tentacle, and then the second, slowing everyone as much as possible, playing with turn reset and speed. My boat took 8 damage only, he's fairly easy if you have a minimum of good stuff

Use Reset weapons and and slow weapons. You can bassicly put the sea king out of the fight while you focus the tentacles. Each 3rd turn the tentacles will do 2 damage each to your ship. so they are easily focussed while you repair your ship. Also make sure you do all the cave side quests so you unlock Captain Greenbeards Ship. Goodluck :)

I find it interesting that if your boat sinks your party gets placed on some random hex in the world. While that maybe intentional, the problem is in my case I got placed on some random island with no ports or way to get back to a main part of land. Luckily I had some portal scrolls to get off the island but it took a couple of them to get somewhere. I think this is a pretty big oversight that hopefully they can address.
