Boat Deed feature
The docks say that I can purchase a deed for a boat to launch from any dock. How do I use my deed to launch a boat from any dock? I just spent 600 gold on a boat at a dock on an in-land lake (could not see it because the lake is flanked by mountains on three sides). I went to another dock and they wanted me to buy a whole new boat, but I ain't got another 600 gold. I have explored the whole land mass and really need to set sail...

... yea, i had the very same issue - i did not see that the water does not conect to the other land ... i thought i could [re]use it at any port once i got the deed... prices are absurd high ...

The deed you buy is for the one boat you get, as it is a deed to that specific boat. It is not a deed to be able to "rent" a boat from any port you want for free thereafter. You have to either bring the boat to the new location or buy a new one.

I agree that this is very misleading. The wording definitely makes it sound like one deed will let you use the boat at every port.

Thank for clarifying. If you could make portals on the water, this wouldn't be such an issue. That was the first thing I tried, but no dice.

I'll just have to grind a bit to get the gold and hope that I don't reach another price bracket from leveling up... :/

how do I take a boat from one port to another? I can't pick it up

Go to a port with the ship. Then under services you have the option to change the ship to a deed (the ship has to be adjecent to the port, I think)

Also, the ship must not be damaged. You can only pick up undamaged boats. There is also the option to repair under services.

After you clicked to pick up the boat you have to click on the boat. Only then will it end up in your backpack.

If the character that has the boat in their inventory arrives at a port you will be prompted if you want to use it. You can decline and change your mind later by clicking on services.

yuh, just fix the boat and pick it up at the port.
