Egregiously Poor Optimization - Nintendo Switch
what a huge joke it is that the switch version is more expensive than pc (same price currently, but on sale for 20% off) when it runs like complete trash.

- extremely laggy overworld movement.
- poor ui navigation.
- lack of rebinding options.
- random crashes.

I hope you take the responsibility/initiative to fix this embarrassment that was released in its current state; wish the nintendo switch had a digital refund option like steam.

I eagerly awaited the Switch release of FTK (check my post history - I've made several threads over the past year about it).

And yet it's one of the first Switch games I completely regret purchasing. The framerate on the overworld is literally in the low-to-mid TEENS which causes a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ABSURD amount of input lag.

Sadly, I find it to be completely unplayable. Id love to see the option to reduce the game's handheld resolution or something, cuz id REALLY love to play FTK while lying in bed at night.

Can't help but feel like the devs knowingly scammed Nindie Switch adopters knowing those of us who purchase it have no way to refund the game. There is no rating system either for Nindie Switch so we can't even give warning to people who want to purchase the game. Unacceptable though really. Devs are radio silent about this which only adds insult to injury. Uninstalling my PC version and will give the game a bad review here in next few days when I have the time.

Right now all we can do is get the word out to friends/family/social networks to tell people not to buy the game. Sad because had the devs given the Nindie Switch a little more love, it would of been a great addition to the system. I know I would of poured many hours into to it. Sad times.

Hey guys,
Thanks for reaching out. We are aware of issues on the switch (and other platforms) that we are working with our porting company to resolve. I can't really think of anything to say that would prove we are doing nothing dishonest with the consoles - switch or otherwise - and I can only give my word that's not the case. We are hoping to have a patch out for the consoles within a week or so - but each console has it's own processes for deploying these patches, and some take more time than others.
All I can say is: we've identified some issues that should resolve stability problems, and we've implemented them - it's simply a matter of getting this tested, and then submitted to the respective console companies to get out the door.

Really happy to hear this! Would absolutely love to play FTK on my handheld Switch and would also love to get my buddies to pickup a copy to play on game nights.

As of right now, however, I simply cannot make that recommendation. I'd even settle for a resolution and/or overall graphics quality reduction on the Switch version in exchange for increased framerate (though i also understand, sadly, that this may not be a feasible solution for a product that has already been purchased by people).

Here's to hoping for a noticeable improvement - FTK is truly one of those rare "hidden gems," in my opinion, and the PC version gave me many more hours of fun that I ever expected.

10 days since problems were publicly addressed on twitter - no updates since.

within 30 minutes of playing you could tell the game had its issues on console; it's almost
like it was barely even playtested prior to release.

cbf to even waste time playing this mess riddled with annoying crashes and bugs -
game's as half-baked and disheveled as its company's practices and pr.

I like the game too, just don't like the lack of transparency and superficial urgency -
paid for a full-featured game, not to wait for an unpolished cash grab that could not have
possibly been playtested to any thorough extent.
all devs aren't like this, it would be EA i'd say it might be true but being a dev isn't always easy i'm sure the patch is coming

So I got FTK on the Switch about 1 1/2 weeks ago and despite the bugs/crashes it's been a blast. I was looking for a game to play with my gf and this is perfect. I love to play tabletop IRL but never get to play with my friends due to distance etc. I love everything about it but lately the crashes are getting out of hand. Sometimes it crashes 4-6 times per hour.

I really hope the crashes are getting fixed in the next 2 weeks. I'd love to recommend this to my Switch owning friends but not before the crashes are fixed because I'm afraid they'll talk trash about this absolutly stunning game.

To the Devs : Please keep doing what you're doing. It's been one of the best games I've played on the switch and it's great for Couch Co-op.

Probably unpopular opinion but guess you guys don't have a Switch forum to do this on? More a query than a complaint.

query? complaint? banal platitude?

the switch lacks an interface to even rate games, let alone provide a foundation
for public discourse; I chose steam for its visibility.

next question.

was the nintendo switch version ever even fixed...? uninstalled the game from my library a while ago and have only seen unanswered questions regarding the xbox one version on ironoak games' twitter

Devs hike up the price on the Switch simply because they think they can get away with it. Supposedly Switch carts are expensive but even when a game is purely digital- they'll crank the price up.

It's just sleazy and because of it I won't buy it here or there- sale or not.

Nothing to do with Nintendo?

Funnily enough the pc version runs fine, no crashes, fair price point, decent support. Console ports of pc games being bad? I mean that's karma if it's true.
