4 Player Co-op?

I was going to buy this game with 3 of my other friends, they had bought it before me and we now know co-op only goes up to 3 players! Are there any plans to make this game 4p in the future?

Down in count has been mentioned by the Devs, but up has not. My guess and others on the subject think the amount of work to retool the interface and 3d setup would be a gigantic undertaking compare to dropping the number since that is already in the game.
