Or to make the boss break the game dynamic dramaticly changing the battle.
I understand that difficulty needs to spike at certain instances, and with prepation and understanding I'm getting through to the final act pretty reliably, but with a fully equip party with all members over 40 attacks dmg and high end (Assasin, wizard, and royal) equipment, to lose in 2 rounds seems a bit unreasonable.
Not saying that end boss (and possible other difficult enemies / fights) don't need some tunning, but you really need to balance your defenses on a blacksmith if you are using it to taunt.
So it's very reasonable to die in 2 rounds especially since BS is one of the slower characters to get their turn. My BS at lvl 10 had 64 armor and 58 resist, minstrel and herbalist had higher resists but much less armor (like 28-34 armor if memory serves).
Couple hints: carry on your pref. hero a switchable set of gear that gives you highest luck possible so that you get resist from every well. Use all the resist consumables on him / her. Use party wide resist trinkets / talismans. Use guardtown gear it gives much more armor and resists unlike the other set (you don't really need STR that much).
Simply put just mix gear to get as much resistance on your tank as possible, since your - in my case minstrel and herbalist - will already have innate higher resists due to their specific gear sets. Doing the non-quest dungeons and the chaos buildings (the 1 hard fight vs scourges) will give you access to some very good / rare loot (epics / artifacts etc), there are also the night shops and wandering merchants, the resistance potion from shops / bees, the wells with poison - luck based event, the armor / resist statue etc.
Or are people reaching the "end" boss already?

My mage died early, so I ran away. Which put me right back in the fight, with him still dead, but with all of his damage now reset... The trapper with a bow dodged his way through the first chaos monster, but died to the second one. The blacksmith with a vitality/speed sword soloed the rest, using mostly guaranteed focus hits.
It was ugly, and I think it could have gone a lot better, but F it, I WIN.
If you guys are beating the game on normal difficulty already and without save scumming then I'm legitimately impressed.
