i play without it and have been having fun, right bumper on controller gives you freelook and i play on a big screen tv so all it seems you are really missing is waving your arms around like a goofball. with or without VR its just like any other game

I was originally against a non VR version because the VR is half the enjoyment, and worried that a flat version would amount to a boring clicking simulator that would tank reviews and the game.

They've actually done a good job with it, instead of just a mouse cursor as I feared, they made it so your hands follow the mouse appropriately and it looks more or less like it would in VR, except without the ability to flail around like a nutter. So you miss out on Red Alert Raves. You can also use a controller where each thumbstick controls an arm.

It's great. For 25 coin, you cant beat it, friend.

Yeah, non-vr is working well. Awesome game.

There's open games so you just log in and you'll get added to a game with up to 4 other players. I've played both VR and non-VR and it's really good on both. Really recommend it!

VR is definitely more fun, but you can play with mouse and keys just fine. The helmsman has a disadvantage, because you can only control one hand at a time. But other than that, there is no real difference in handling.

VR is no option for me, coz I'm a glasses wearer and normal VR-solution is uncomfortable and a non-glasses VR-solution is way to expansive.

I've tried the non vr version and find the controls a bit delayed, like the character takes its time to move the hand to the button. It works well but still feels weird.
Also, I'm wearing glasses while using the htc vive and it causes no discomfort to me, and if it does to someone, what vr offers is probably worth the discomfort.

Be mindful in the future when you wear glasses with the Vive; if you haven't noticed, there's a proximity sensor just about the lenses on the inside. When Bridge Crew launched, it caused problems with the game because it would think people wearing glasses weren't wearing the headset and they couldn't play the game.

It's been relaxed, but I don't think many people realize that the sensor is there and it might cause problems for glasses wearers with other games down the road.

Thanks for the advice and the heads up you both. I'll consider buying a VR-solution if it went cheaper. 699 € for a HTC is too expensive, IMO.

Oh this reminds me, I've seen people on here talking about stick on lenses they got for their VR headset. lens lab maybe?
