Thanks! Will be fixed today.
fixed now! please check
Solution for restoring for me was to drop all my stuff off in a chest from the broken save, make a new character on the server and start again, picking up the stuff left by the corrupted character.
You got that right. Unfortunately the fix only works for the uncorverted saves. Your way of restoring the save data is really brilliant, though. I think we'll be reffering to it, every time people will be asking about their map still black after the update.
Hope, you don't mind:)
The problem is that, if you've already converted your save to the most recent version of the game the fix won't do any effect to your map. The only way is to open it back again, or start a new, which is frankly almost the same.
Actually, there's one trick that could help you. I'll post it again as well, try it, maybe it will do something.
- Create a brand new save;
- Make a backup of your previous one. Just in case. You will find all your saves in Documents -> TheWildEight;
- Copy world.byte, and Quest.byte files into your brand new save;
- Launch the save and see if it had all your map, building and quests reinstated as they were before.
Took the World.byte and Quests.byte files from my new save and put them in my old broken save (replacing the files). The map was still unfortunately black.
