Multiplayer question

Can I make a private MP game to just play with friends and invite using Steam's interface?

If I recall correctly you can password your session, but I don't think the game will invite via Steam - your friends would need to join through the game.

I was able to invite him, but he also found my game on top of the list. MP seems to work well which is awesome.

I just purchased the game and have a question about multiplayer. Can I host a game and then friends can join in progress or do they have to be there at the start of a new game? I assume mutliplayer games can be saved and resumed otherwise the grind would be pointless.

Multiplayer sessions are saved on the host client, I believe. When someone joins your session, they start at the crash site and quest progress is whatever you have accomplished.

That's true for the newcomers, but "old" players, who have already played on the server will also be continuing from the point they have ended their game. You can even switch the host player, since the game stores all the files on each player's PC.
