Relaunching your game should resolve it. We'll have this fixed in an update!
Good feedback dicol! During playtesting, we heard some similar feedback but ultimately found that adding a single second suddenly removed all tension. There may be a fraction of a second we could shave off, but the puzzle is still meant to be challenging. It's a tough line to find!
If it helps, I've found the cogs can be more accurate if I use only one hand. Using two hands is often what causes the puzzle to break or otherwise misbehave.
The issue with this is it's not even a puzzle to figure out. It just is a matter of trying to move your hand fast enough over and over. You should consider adding more pegs that are enabled on it so you have to figure out the best path, and then add a little extra time. Or at least have a game difficulty setting or something.
