0 Power Forever?
I get this a lot, is it a bug or a feature in the game? It is irritating when I spend so long making colonies for my people and suddenly being unable to do anything.

It is because bad cities are draining your mana and you have not enough good cities to generate mana for you.

If you teleport to bad cities and kill heretics (or simple humans if you want too but the heretics are lowering the fait in your city. You should eliminate them) by throwing them to the ground or some building too they will believe in you again and restart the mana production.

In the next patch an indicator will be visible above bad cities so you know action should be taken here.

I hope this explanation will help you.

Due to the early state of the game difficulty may change a lot from one patch to another. Doesn't hesitate to tell me of it is too hard or too easy.

Thanks for your feedback

It's easy once you learn this, I ran into the same problem on my first try. Once you know that the priests in the red shirt are what gods are supposed to vent their anger on and be creative in the ways they chuck them into the sea, things run smoothly. :)

I only played this game once and came here precisely for this. xD

At first I thought colors meant different tribes until I realized I could pick them up and saw "heretic" on all the reds. But just from playing it once it feels rather annoying. Especially that I was teleporting around and killed them left and right with no change. How am I supposed to keep up? I had 10 cities and couldn't get any mana at all for the good half of my play, then I gave up and searched here.
It would be cool if you could, I don't know, create special crusaders maybe? People or cults that hunt down heretics for you, so you don't have to spent 100% of your time hunting those pesky guys.
This works great in reality, why not the game? :D
Alternatively maybe get a base mana regeneration that just slows down.

Or maybe wonders and things that inspire awe and people who are in awe reject heretics and shoo them away? :/

Oh and a last thing, maybe make a "Do you really wanna trigger this volcano?" confirmation. :(
I thought throwing them on the ground was bad, because people were afraid, so I tried dropping them in a volcano.... and kinda killed a city. :/ And could make it rain because I had no mana left.

Thank you for your feedback. :)

The mana regeneration needs to be reworked and will be in one of the future patch.
I'm also thinking about a way to allow the god to convert a human into a Priest that will ensure the faith in a city.

It is always fun to see people triggering the volcano for the first time but i admit the exclamation mark is not doing the job well and most people don't imagine what will happen so I think I will simply add a physical button to ignite the volcano and let the player burn humans in the lava hole if he want. ^^

Ooh, burning heritics in a volcano sounds fun

I noticed that certain wonders turn white people back to blue ones, maybe we could get a wonder where we can "divinely" burn a heretic that would have a huge faith boost in the surrounding area, enough to ensure that there won't be any heretics for the next couple minutes? I'm thinking of something that makes the heretic levitate further and further upwards while he burns like a torch.

That could even be a quite pricy wonder (I'm thinking 200-300), since it's quite doable to manage 3-4 villages before it gets confusing and hard to hop from village to village to weed out heretics.

Indeed humans that see a miracle receive a boost in faith. Some way to prevent heretics for a certain amount of time sounds like a good idea to me. :)

A button would cool I guess.
I just had the problem that I would automatically let go of everything in my hand when I came too close to the volcano trigger area. That would make the heretic fall on the hill side. When I wanted to grab him again the volcano broke loose. xD
Another cool thing for heretics would be, placing them in swamps and putting them back in cities. They will look ill and in bad shape and everyone will want to avoid them. So you could essentially convert a heretic in an "antiheretic", because people see. "Oh that guy prayed to the wrong god and got turned ill as punishment."
Maybe that's easier to do than making priests. :)
