I don't think that wars are something they wanna focus on in particular. GGC2 was more of an exception, because Nazis and shady experiments during WW2 are some of the most popular tropes in media. If anything, the end of GGC2 implies that next time there might be something about aliens. Although it would be cool to see Vinnie blasting through the jungles and cities of Vietnam in a '68-like setting, but more humorous.

I think Americans don't like making Vietnam games because the US army got its butt kicked real bad when they went there.

Oh did they?

Last I checked.... Most of the major battles that took place during the war, the U.S. defeated the communist forces, not the other way around as you suggest. At the end of the war, overall the US suffered far fewer casualties than its opponents. The U.S. military reported 58,220 American casualties. Although North Vietnamese and Viet Cong casualty counts vary wildly, it is understood that they suffered several times the number of American casualties.

In terms of body count, the U.S. and South Vietnam won a clear victory. In addition, just about every North Vietnamese offensive was crushed.

The US only left the war because the American public demanded it because they felt the war was pointless as Vietnam is insignificant as a resource.
