E-mails from the teammates?

I'm wondering if I have kind of a bug in the game?

when I played the IMOQ-series, I (actually kite lol) got a lot of emails from teammates, where they talked 'bout stuff from their RL. ( I remember mails with mistral talking about cooking, or with wiseman talking bout digimon trading card game etc. I think I had mail-conversations with almost each of them, except elk, who waited till postgame.) so this mail-system was always one of my favorites when it came to .hack, it made the characters kind of well more like there were "real". so of course I thought it would be the same in G.U.
but.
I finished the third volume and uh.. well there was not that much mail-exchange or even mails? I had some with silabus (about jogging) and kuhn (something about girlfriends and parties) during first volume and that's it? Is it just how G.U. is? Or am I missing something? I maxed out the affection, but that doesn't help. I know, there are these greeting cards from the ryu books, but there aren't that much of them and I already used them, I got responses but couldnn't even answer them, so I think, it was really not that usefull..

So I am kind of disappointed -_-'

I just completed Vol. 2, and I think that's just how GU is.

It'd be cool to learn more about the characters that way. Like, Kuhn has a part-time job, and that email did a lot to make him seem more real. I'd like to see more of that.

I've been pretty satisfied, but I also didn't play the originals very much, only Infection, and I didn't beat it.

If you send people the postcards you can ask them questions and have different little e-mail chains with them.

I found kind of a solution for me now.
after I got a few more postcards from the ryu books, I decided to give all of them to one or two people and see what answers (and mail-chains) I can get. when there aren't any answers left I just reload the game and either repeat with the same characters to get all of their other email-responses or I go over and give the cards someone else and so on..

it's laborious, but at least I get the chance to learn way more about them and their lifes -_-'
