.hack//G.U. Last Recode
The first 4 titles then .Hack G.U. titles
They remastered the 3 .Hack G.U. chapters and added a final fourth chapter to the story. Any info or news of them remastering .Hack Infection .Hack Mutation .Hack Quarantine .Hack Outbreak? The original 4 in the .Hack series.

its never gonna happen the cost would be more then what they would generate to profit. gotta remember its more then one person who has to be paid to do this they said years ago based on sales and the sales didn't generate much in US and europe was a bust pretty much everything tanked. I loved the game story ect but its essentially got outplayed by another game, story by SAO I like dot hack more but its never gonna get same base as SAO did which why SAO has outperformed in sales
they could always run a kickstart campaign to remaster it lol

That would still require Bandai to give permission, they seem to be just fine consistently producing light novels and manga of the series instead of games :/ .
Question this may sound stupid I know how everyone wants a remaster of .hack Infection Mutation Outbreak and Quarantine but apparently all we hear is we aren't going to get one even though Cyberconnect wants to. Why did .hack G.U. get remastered then? Also what is stopping them from creating new .hack titles? Sword Art Online is a great anime. The games are not bad either in my opinion. Though with Sword art Online I think they could do a lot better. Kirito and everyone be in the game but you create your own character distribute attribute points for your play style and level skills and unlock skills is what I would like to see. Hell even skills or abilities and what not that have hidden conditions to get. Better yet Why not make one where it has a single player option your own world. A multiplayer where you can invite or join someones world. Then have a MMO world make it where you can own a shop a house and such like in Aincrad that had all sorts of different skills too. Allow there to be Player killing but then the killer cant go in towns have bounties the person that died cant play for 2-24 hours if they die. add unique events that will pop up for multiplayer single player and MMO that get you special rewards maybe only a certain number of people can get them unless the event comes back up or they make it a super rare drop. Remember there was the last attack bonus thing too. Heck why not take something from .hack and put it in it too like the forums maybe do something with warp gates and key words how they send you to special different fields for stuff. Perhaps that all is asking to much but I think everyone would agree that Sword Art Online kinda deserves a proper mmo of the game. Though it have to be done right its sad to think we probably will never see that Bandai just wouldnt want to invest in it. If they did and it was done right it would be a huge hit. No play to win sure they could have their subscription maybe a little shop for something/things.

There are now an option for enter the world for that dot hack fan game, the nda beta testing is over.

I'm kinda lost. Your talking like they are in the works of a new .Hack game though I haven't heard anything about them announcing it and can't find anything online. I so I got no clue what your talking about. I know what NDA stands for but even if its in beta testing thats a part of the development and would of heard a new .hack is in the works, at least we should.

How is the fan game good bad? I want to hear a opinion before I see if I want to try it myself.

Me too, i was not one of the testers unfortnatedly, they get to play it in advance. I just know as far as the desktop and following the mail. Recently there was an operation dot hack day at 9th so they posted news about that in the ingame desktop mailer too.

Im curious myself to see how it looks like once normal players can login, altho it does feel a bit strange playing dothack with full multiplayer, or how its gonna work, to be honest. It have its own hazards too, like "that" kind of hacking (not gate hacking >.>)

There's to much here to address without a enter so I'll reply to at least what I bothered reading. There already is an SAO game that has you create your own model as well as both a single player and co-op mode and its considered one of the best SAO's. Its called SAO Hollow Realization. It has literally everything you mentioned outside of the MMO part of it. I'd doubt you'd ever get a MMO though since Bandai doesn't seem keen on them.

Cus Cyberconnect doesn't own the rights to .hack, they are just the studio that makes it. Bandai owns the rights and more than likely Bandai is making more money off of SAO and thats more reliable so there is no incentive to them to remake an old ip.

Bamco are too much of big galaxy brains to realise that nostalgia is a helluva drug. Capcom and Sega have been riding that money train pretty good. Bamco hasn’t put out anything aside from SAO dreck that I think people are starting to wear out on. But yea, CC2 doesn’t own .hack. Bamco would have to be pressed. But there’s no guarantee that those goofs didn’t lose the sources. Then again, EA did keep all the fmv vhs masters of c&c in a broom closet. So maybe that’s the case with Bamco? No way to know unless they get pressed.

Realistically, .hack has always been a niche series. Niche doesn’t sell in US branch mainline publishers eyes.

I can tell you that they mentioned a while back in interviews they had lost the master copies of the original .hacks. Which is also why the G.U. series was the one picked for the remaster. They stated in order to redo the originals they'd have to remake them from scratch which would take a bunch of money. That being said Bandai has no real reason not to permit new games at all outside of maybe that making SAO games might be cheaper (from my understanding the budget for the SAO games isn't super massive so its easy to churn them out and make money).

Of course they did, why should I even be shocked?:rfacepalm: Like I wrote previously, it's easier for companies like Bamco to churn out mainstream anime game dreck rather than daring to re-approach older IP's. Then again, it would be a high risk for them because they would have to "sanitize" the older games because loads of them were not exactly "pc" by today's standards. So yeah, it's far easier for them to churn out "easier" games that have a "locked in" customer base.
I may like the SAO games though still just focusing on them well how do I put it some times playing the games in the series its like almost nothing changes some times in the games just new story. Rare we get new features. There will be a time where people want more from the games not just cranking a new one out something they put a lot of time and effort into. Not saying has to be a mmo even though fans would like a mmo of the game done properly I bet but has the single player and and a good multiplayer.

Also think worse case scenario the series as it is currently the game gets stale no one will want to play the games. So I see it as one of two things either they need to step back and think about the SAO games like what works what doesnt what fans want all that kind of stuff.

So in my opinion it would be Good to remaster them and work on future .hack titles too possibly. That way they have another hitter for the fan base.

Spend the money make the remasters to start with not say to speed them along if stuff really has to be made from scratch but put it out there they are in the works but will be slow progress till they are complete then they decide if they want to add more and make it a official franchise.

I would think it would bring more money to bandai having 2 fan games like that. if anything just a side project of a remaster they put in the works but its slow when its out they will either earn more they put into it as a side project or at least break even and fans would be happy to have a remaster.
Bandai is all about easy money, they don't tend to concern themselves much with how the customers feel sadly. Symphonia's remaster was a sign of this. After all when it came out (and some would argue even now) the PC version which is just a port of the ps3 version runs better than it. I'm sure when the SAO games stop selling then they'll think about reviving something like .hack but until that time happens they probably won't concern themselves with it.

Thats what im afraid of too. When they got nothing new they start making remakes and stuff i guess, old FF series got alot of them too, i feel like some companies sit on money schemes that work, but also afraid to take chances with something new and fresh. Raven software been sitting on call of duty series, i think theyre up in 22 games now, and i doubt theyre gonna make a heretic or hexen 3 anytime soon. Though this was before they were bought up by some other company they made those old games, and getting bought up can always be bad for a good company, especially if some of the old staff leave because of it. Indeed, lot of things have changed in the world, not always for the better, gaming is one of them. But once in awhile games like Ast libra and Faelands pop up.
