I mean If they were willing to put forth remastering these and making vol. 4 then I'D like to think the og games getting a touch up isnt impossible but we also haven't heard anything of the sort being in the works... IK back in 2019 it was made known that Cyberconnect wanted to do it, but Bandai hasn't been behind it to my knowledge

The work to remaster this pales in comparison to the OG games. They just can't slap a few minor enhancements on it, increase the rendering resolution and call it a day like they did. It's too obvious those games need more work. (Significant world and character model poly counts, textures, draw distances,etc. The in game character models vs cutscene models differences are pretty drastic)

Does it HAVE to be remastered or anything? I'd just be happy if they can just give us them in the way they were for the PS1 for all I care. I just want the quadrilogy back. So bastard theived my origonals when I was moving house. :_(

Well, if youre not worried about a remaster you could always get it on emulator.. The reason games are remastered usually is to increase texture resolution and maybe add some new features like better AA, better lighting etc. You can get some better looks through filters on an emulator but its not always the same as a good remaster.

I mean, I would like a Steam Version of the original .hack series (in addition to G.U. which has already been done); I miss the mechanic of the original data drain from the days of Kite. Don't get me wrong I realize Skeith can DD too but it's not the same thing, when you DD in the original .hack://infection it was a normal battle and specific "Avatar Battles" were not required :/

Edit: Also CC Corp is well aware of the interest in the original series, they even make reference to it in-game in G.U. talking about "The World R:1" which is the time in which the original series took place in the in-game forums.

There may be good news about the original quadrilogy. Although it's rather vague for now the fact that they've chosen to go with that trademark looks promising.
