What is the intended way to beat the bike races? (Vol 2)
Searching only yields how to glitch the missions. I actually like riding the bike, so I want to complete the missions the proper way, or at least in some clever way that doesn't take advantage of a programming error, like how you can go backwards on Mission 4, which is how I beat that one. I managed to barely squeeze a win out of Mission 5, but I'm more than a second off on Missions 1-3, which makes me think I'm doing something wrong.

Also I know Vol 3 has better bike parts and better rewards. This is a personal challenge to myself, since the races are obviously intended to be winnable in their respective volumes.

Try Different Keywords, as I did find that different Keywords for the same mission did change some things.

Get the best parts you can buy (and maybe from doing bike races and getting chim chims, can't remember if you get parts from that), and practice a lot. Also, master the 180 turn and the boost start, remember that the bike has a big hitbox, so you don't need to be too close to the chim chims to collect them, and learn where and when you need to use the turbo.

Had no idea you could boost at the start. Before I learned how to do that, I managed to chip my Mission 2 time down to 9.40 and spent the next half hour thinking surely I could shave that last .1 second off. For those who don't know, you boost at the start by holding gas and brake at the same time, letting up on brake right as the race starts. With this knowledge, I easily knocked out the last few Missions. Thank you for that.
