Problems/Fixes List

I been reviewing most of the problems of crashes and/or slow FPS for .hack//G.U. Last Recode. I put together this list using Forum knowledge and my own tampering of the game. If you have any more fixes, please put them here for others. If NONE of these work, running Steam offline tends to fix it, but add the problems of not being able to transfer data from Volume to Volume until you get back in Online Mode.

General Fix: Running the game of Safe Mode/Steam Offline Mode.
Common Crashes: Stop running Discord or Big Picture Overlay
Crashes in Arena or Battles: Change Sound Overlay
Game Crashes on Launch OR Loading: Stop tabtip, or any Tablet Software.
Low FPS: I don't know, post solution.
Game Crashes in Cutscenes: I don't know, post solution

There is a patch coming, but I don't know when. In the meantime, let's help out the community by stockpiling solutions.

I forgot to add, disabling cloud saves also helps in general, but remember to enable it after if your game is fixed.

As dumb as this is going to sound (And it works for me 100% of the time that I sit and do this). Open the game, let it crash, open the game, let it crash, repeat the process till it finally starts. Think of it as a chainsaw, it needs to properly be revved to work. I play it nightly now and usually takes me 3-7 tries before I can play. I also don't crash while playing thankfully so I think that helps it along well.

This is if disabling tabtip doesn't work, doesn't matter if you are windows 7 or 10. I'm on windows 10 and I am able to play nightly with this. Took till try 10 last night but hey, at least I can still play. :/

Okay this is kind of a weird one but when I started my game today (playing with a PS4 controller btw) suddenly, and for no apparent reason, all my buttons had been swapped around since last time (X and O, square and triangle, and all the shoulder buttons). I can think of no reason why this change would have occurred (especially since you can't even REMAP the controls in-game in the first place) and it happened across both of my PS4 controllers.

Yep. Still waiting on that patch. The game is at least consistant enough to crash every fifteen minutes, no matter what I'm doing in it.

Clusterone888, I would be careful. You could break something to the point of no return. Try running the game to Offline Mode.
Mursonsishi, You can re-map out of game in the Title Screen.
Trollitar, I feel you. They released nothing on the dates, so just hang in there.

You can ONLY remap KEYBOARD controls, not controller controls (unless I am missing the obvious somehow) XD.

Low FPS issue for me (Overclocked I7-4790K and 1080 Ti). I am unable to run the game in borderless windowed or windowed mode at all. Game never consumes more then 5-10% cpu and I don't actually know the GPU utilization but it doesn't even turn the fans on. Running in Full Screen fixes FPS problem.

Controller Issues : Disabling steams control of controller input (using PS3 controller) prevents issues

I wish you could adjust sounds ingame. My second P.C. brakes in every battle and I KNOW it's a problem of sound. Using an art or charge attacking crashes the game. Changing the sound overlay in the P.C. does not work for this problem, sadly. Any fixes?

Have you tried setting Anti Aliasing and shadows to off? an I7 is an 8-core intel processor and a 1080 Ti is an nVidia GPU of 4GB, so this means it's a powerful machine. Mine has the half of that and had issues with FPS dropping while in town. Turned those things off and never drops from 60.

Pi's attack crashes the game with Wing of Lulu, the wind item.
I switched to Fire Mouse, and she works fine now.

It will be fine, i've had to do this with other things before and 99% of the time there is no issues. Just backup whatever save you need and you will be ok. All I care about is that it works.
