I really like the idea of playing a single player game that is about playing a mmorpg. Is there any more games like this?

Really its Sword art online and all of its sequels/prequels/spinoff.

I don't know. I haven't played any SAO games, other than the Memory Defrag and other one, both of which are on mobile. I assumed they were more like Dot Hack. Hopefully they'll remaster the 4 originals/prequels of the Dot Hack Games. I never got to finish that series.

Crosscode! Its a top down game pixel art game but its fantastically done. Playing it led me to this gem which I missed during the PS2 days.

I recommend Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, it's single player set in an MMO. You see other 'players' running around in parties fighting monsters and stuff, there's raid bosses where you have 20+ people in your group. It's a lot of fun :)
Most SAO fans would recommend Hollow Fragment which is kinda similar but from someone who never watched the anime I didn't like it as much, but it could be worth checking out too

If you really want to play SAO game, jist play Fatal Bullet instead. Story is just as bad and cringey as the rest of them but at least you aren't forced to play as Kirito (bleh). Also its pretty good gameplay wise.

Its more an RPG than shooter, there's autotarget and pretty much everything is stat and gear based. Can also use sword instead of guns.

Kingdoms of Amalur. It actually developed as a MMORPG until last year when they decided to convert it into singleplayer.

Ha ha...a game like .Hack. That's actually kind of funny. I'd suggest you buy yourself a Playstation 2 and get the 4 original .Hack games if you want something similar.

Or, settle for watching the original TV series, of which both .Hack//Sign and .Hack//G.U. have their own shows. The series for G.U. is called Roots, and covers the time Haseo actually spent as a member of the guild the Twilight Brigade.

And let me just say, The original .Hack//Sign tv series is honestly one of the best early 2000s anime to ever come out of Japan. Its right up there with Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop.

Sword Art Online is basically the same Game as .Hack...

The difference is...

.Hack is an MMORPG
Sword Art Online is an Endless Tower

The Stories between the Two Games are basically the same,
& the major Gameplay Differences are that .Hack is older style,
& Sword Art Online is more modern style...

I based this knowlage off the Anime Series for both...

I have not seen enough SAO to know all the Details...


.Hack the Games they are a Single Player Game that
gives you a Fake Online MMORPG Experience...

So I dunno, take what you can get, right?
