Should I beat the forest of pain? Is it worth the hours?
So apparently the forest of pain is 100 levels long which is not very fun, I just wanted to know if it was worth it at all. I just want to go to the next volume.

There is some REALLY good items for doing the Forest of Pain, including weapon parts that are in Dopple weapons

I was talking more about story stuff.

there is are "secret" cut scenes when you finish it.
I actually haven't done that when I played before and never bothered.
(Actually I got to floor 20 something and gave up, compared to the first game where I got to floor 30 before dying to virus infection from data drain).

Anyway, I think I will have to this time, it's looking like it's the only way I will ever be able to complete the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ battle book of 1000

forest of pain is simply a secret dungeon event in Vol.3. It doesn't add anything to the story however it gives you a ton of useful items and some of the best gear. Reaching level 50 unlocks Tabby as a new teammate.

every 5 levels has a challange for you to do. doing the challenges rewards you with items. After you beat a boss level you can leave and return to that specific level up to level 50. Leaving at any point past 50 will bring you back to it. (so you better be ready to grind the rest of the way)

Even if it's long and gets an annoying gimmick here and there, it's good for filling out the book of 1000's monster dex. There's also a cool cutscene at the end (can't spoil, but if you like easter eggs and callbacks to earlier in the same story, there's one there)!
