Later in Vol 3, you can buy those or the Master Text/Book which gives 1 skill lvl up with Virus Cores after upgrading all of your Lost Weapons.

nice but it helps alot to get 25+ in vol.1 for vol.2 i have 50 of each by the time i got done with everything in vol.1

If I were you, it would be wise to get 198 beginners text so that when you go to volume 2 and 3, you will have all your skills maxed out immediately. The max level of skill in volume 3 is 30. It takes 20 beginners text to go up 10 levels of skill. Once you finish your characters skills, you can use them on your friends.
