Waittt....Do i really need to 100% the ryu book to max if i want to level up Canard completely?
This does NOT require 100% in Item Collection or Enemies seen.
As a general rule, the campaigns you want to do for the unique items are:
Mecha Grunty Rescue: Find mecha grunty in areas and dungeons and give him spheres. You need to rescue him a total of 50 times to complete the campaign.
Lucky Animal Data: Kick at least one of every Lucky/Unlucky animal for the data, and kick a total of 50 lucky animals.
Chim Kicker: Kick Chim Chims. You need one of each type (Chim, Rare Chim, Chim King, and Chim Assassin).
Bounty Hunt: Kill 50 total PKers, and kill every "Blacklister" Chaotic PK on the checklist. This typically gets you very good weapons for completion.
Also, Volume 2 onwards you will also need to do the Bike Race campaign both for the Ryu Books as well as bike parts.
Another recommendation is to not focus too terribly much on weapons and other equipment for characters you may not immediately use in the next volume, as the trash gear from the shops in each new volume are generally better than the generic/non-unique gear that was amazing end-game for the previous volume.
Also, don't be like me and miss out on the unique and missable wallpapers and such for your desktop by going to Volume 2 before completing the Avatar Battle Simulations. You get unique wallpapers for each completed Avatar Battle Simulation at the Serpent of Lore in Raven's @home, which you cannot get in future volumes (Doing Volume 1 avatar simulations in volume 2 only awards a small amount of money, you can't get the wallpapers).
Generally speaking, complete as much as you can (Get the Ryu Books to level 3 and 1,000 points to level Canard and possibly get some bonus progress towards 4 and 5 for some of them in Volume 2), get any unique items you can, complete the campaigns for the rewards, and make sure Haseo's weapon skills and stats are well leveled with what is available in Volume 1.
It's not too terribly hard to grind, and many of the Ryu Books you'll actually manage to max out through normal gameplay in Volume 1 (the Bike book is easy street to max out since you don't have to collect parts, do races, or collect chims in races until they're available in Vol. 2), and it shouldn't take too long to track down any missing items, monsters, or grind anything you might need to do, as there's a LOT of tricks and good area words you can find online to grind out the campaigns and Ryu books.
*Edit*
Almost forgot, definitely get a kill on the Doppelganger in every Volume, I cannot stress that enough. The Own King key item in Volume 1 is required for you to be able to get 3 very good Volume 2 best in slot weapons for Haseo (One for each weapon type), and the key item from Volume 2 is required to get some awesome rewards from Doppelganger in Volume 3.
Finally, if I remember correctly party member affection ratings become increasingly important (Effecting one of the Awakening modes you unlock in Volume 2 I think, as well as some potential interactions at the end of Volume 3), so don't neglect your party members as far as gifting them new equipment, customization materials, consumables, and responding appropriately to their emails and forum posts throughout the game.
You have too fight the Dopple twice in Vol2 and Vol3.
Vol2, once in 2nd or 3rd form, the second time in 3rd form
Vol3 once in Xth form, and again after the first credits.
