I think Kaede is blackrose, with kite being Zelkova. Some of the look in the eyes of the art..."never thought you'd be so young" ..the tension, and unwavering following...she was always at his side..I dunno it hints at it being helba..

However I still feel like he's Kite. Also - blue hair.

Also - given Taihaku is there (balmung) watching over the world, and I get the feeling gabi is orca...
They could go for, "the old characters are back, watching in the shadows as a supporting role this time" type move.

I forgot about the emails.. Hm.

Helba didn't leave anything to Kite as far as I'm aware.

I always felt that Zelkova was Bif the black, who helped Mr. Tokuoka in LIMINALITY. As He was the only one who had any real world contact with Helba that we know of.

I find it unlikely that Kaede, is Blackrose if you read on another Birth the personalities just don't fit at all Even if it's 7 years later, Another birth is not canon, no but it's the original story seen through her eyes.

This would imply that Ovan is DEFINITELY not one of the .hackers (and Kite DEFINITELY is). I'm fairly certain Zelkova would know who most, if not all of the .hackers are. Personally I think Ovan is likely the minor character 01 from R1. 01 introduces Kite and Black Rose to Wiseman, and we know Wiseman is Yata. That would cover Ovan being an old friend of Yata. And then there is the item "O-van 01", as if to point out Ovan is SUPPOSED to be 01 with a heavy accent. I've never seen that as a coincidence.

Wow. I haven't played IMOQ in a good 8 years.. I don't remember that at all.

Okay so Ovan is 01 from R1, Yata is wiseman, Zelkova I still believe would have to be either Helba or Bif the black, or perhaps the guy in Liminality IS helba But denied that connection to try and protect himself?

I doubt Kite would be Zelkova.. He knows way too much of hacking and micro-managing everything Zelkova's very Lios or helba like in nature.

I plan to replay IMOQ..and maybe even Fragment after GULR It'll be fun to see all the characters..

Taihaku being Balmung however I can't see. Balmung would more likely be Sakaki I think IF we already didn't know who sakaki was irl, He always had that very prideful and heroic justice outlook while being a slightly dickish .. (I love you balmung <3 )

I don't have ANY idea who Zelkova might have been in R1, I'm not fond of the Helba theory. All we can do is guess for him, assuming he played R1 at all.

I always thought Zelkova was an AI? Though I never did postgame stuff my first time playing and haven't got around to playing the remaster yet (though I intend to soonish) so not sure if something else contradicts that idea later in his email chains or w/e, but always got that impression the first time I played.

I dont think so, According Wikia Balmung in R1 was 18 years old and Sakaki is 10 years old

also Balmung(18) and Orca(14) are not Taihaku(28) and Gabi(68) according to Wikia Age

And Kaede(28) too is not Blackrose(16)

Didn't many years pass between R:1 and R:2? You should factor that into your age comparisons as well... I mean Haseo/Sora was only 10 at the time of R:1.

After reading the mails a bit, i'm changing mine - Kaede being helba (and apparently in one of the faqs it mentions nanase mitabi being blackrose..somehow o.0 Dunno missed that part, but if that's true..) Didn't helba have some "motherly" qualities ..or a mention of it o.0

Kaede is DEFINITELY NOT Helba. Kaede doesn't even know what's going on in the AIDA server until Sakaki brings it up. She also didn't know about GU or AIDA in general. Helba would notice things like that.

Black Rose isn't anyone in R2. She specifically says she isn't playing in the bonus email you get in vol 1 (directed towards Kite).

I just assumed he was a smaller AI like Mia, not a Aura type thing.
