SAO had character death, but in the end, they decided to be toothless in that endevour. Refusing to kill off any characters with any sort of character development put in them. This mechanic was basically only relevant for the first few episodes and later the show basically announced there will never be any dramatic stakes for Kirito and his harem ever.
From a narrative perspective, at least the .hack series was willing to put people into comas under the interesting plot dynamics that they were gone and could no longer contribute too the story anymore. Until that story was nearing it's resolve anyway. SAO was never willing to fully take this plunge, even despite taking the coma mechanic further.
true enough, but if you track back enough anyhting we do now a newer take on a older ideas. hell we remaking movies left and right becuase we hitting a wall lol.
The day we can connect my brain to a MMO, call me. Dot hack may have done it in the past but it won't stop me from enjoying it in the future. I want to become a NPC before I die. Sounds fun.
i rather be stuck in a Overlord type of VRMMO myself monster pc ftw lol
Oh yes, and we know the amazing story of how popular and well known it was as a web novel. Oh wait, no, nobody even really knew about that till after it got published.
Moreover, the writer has never denied being inspired. Nothing is wrong with taking inspiration from other work, that’s how we grow creatively.
It doesn’t make one a ripoff of the other though. They are vastly different works sharing only a similar genre.
If you mean anime that isn't airing anymore, no new seasons, then yeah. It's fading...
Kinda hard for people born in 2010 to know anything beyond that though. Heck they don't even know what a cassette tape or a VHS is these days.
These other information given by others are just from ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ resources most of the time trying to claim like SAO came first, any sane person knows .Hack was the ones who went out first with a bang under the radar in Japan.
It was mostly populated in japan until it got shipped overseas to many other countries so others can enjoy as well, thats why not many people knew about this game or the series itself.
It's ridiculous how many people thinks SAO comes first when .Hack series has been existing for ages before SAO even existed, these guys don't know nothing about the series, they just want to make SAO look like the powerful one who came out first before .hack did.
Most of these who claims these are mostly SAO fans, i can never understand whats so enjoyable about a game thats just filled with Fanservice, its ridiculous.
The SAO series itself is just a waste of time.
Not a single interesting story at all, just a way to put in fillers here & there to gain that extra cash, least .Hack stick to its roots & created a story that really makes you feel like you're actually there & that their visuals are just on point, giving each characters emotions of their own to make you able to feel attached to almost any character in the .Hack Series, its just a wonderful sight.
well, that and //sign wasnt a flashy anime with cool effects and multiple waifus with tig ol bitties and fan service. it was a quiet dialogue heavy show with a very low production value made one of the worst studios to stain the industry (bee train)
