check vgchartz, for whatever reason, jrpg and many games have suck sales on steam. but they have wayyyyyy better sales on console. PC is not master race for sale.

one easy example is cold steel : 20k sales on steam 1mil sales on console

The problem with I am setsuna is it wasn't a very well advertised game. I didn't even know that game existed until i saw a trailer for Lost Sphear and how they mentioned it being a spiritual successor to I am setsuna and I've been a fan of JRPGS for 20+ years.

I think Lost sphear is going to do much better than I am setsuna because the game seems to be advertised very well and it's also a multi console port.

It also has an even higher price tag, and isn't much of an improvement over IAS. Just another mediocre game trying to use Chrono Trigger's name to pull sales.

I agree with Alucard, it is over priced wannabe chronno trigger. It feels like no one can bring back that EPIC jrpg feeling. #SquarewithoutSakaguchi

Aren't you the same person who rants on steam that off topic that jrpg always sell less in steam because you think pc gamer are poor and pirates?

Your argument already invalid due game being played by majority was MMOs which could be explained on the steam stats itself not counting away game outside steam.

People won't even bother to pirate it because piracy is in verge of dying in video games industry then why they bother to sell and port their games here?
It's simple a decent half assed port doesnt cost much, a full invested port would look rather unique and likely to become an exclusive value.
They also build investment by porting it majority of publisher followed the idea on 2013 after FF tittle being released including jrpg and all kind of "so called Exclusive".
The money will return eventually within year. That's why i call it investment.

If you're a publisher what you needs mainly to gain trust and fans to play your game in multiple platforms.
Unless you backed up by the platform itself such as Nintendo games or Atlus Exclusive/Gear of wars/Halo tittle.

Now do you get it why it's a nonsensical argument?
I doubt you would...

If making high quality sprites were easier and less expensive, I'd imagine a lot of big name devs and publishers would still be making epic JRPGs. Indie devs have the will but not the money. This results in less content and polish in their games, even if the core is great, and is why there's such a noticeable difference between old high budget JRPGs and new low budget JRPGs made to look like the old high budget JRPGs.

I saw it first day it was released. It was an AMAZING game. I love I Am Setsuna!

Console versions have always had higher sales in general. They have a larger playerbase(if you only count steam users who can run new games) and more mainstream appeal.

Also Cold Steel has sold 1m since 2013, across multiple platform releases(including Steam), and most of those sales are within Japan(where PC gaming isn't really a thing.) It's not actually a great example. Bigger games like Nier Automata and Tales of Berseria have done significantly better.

This game still might not sell though, considering I am Setsuna was a flop in general.

I have never owned a console in my life. I do not like the use of controllers, and any gaming computer is better for gaming. Steam just makes things easier to play, download and update. Consoles are not in the same league, and is why I do not like to use them. They only thing going for consoles is they are cheaper and portable, but that is not relevant, nor does it matter to having the best tools for computing and gaming combined. You can do much more with a gaming computer also.

Very nice site link. Let's again look at Trails of Cold Steel (the first only) Console sales:
0.46 million on PS3 and Vita = 460 thousand in 24 months (released Dec 2015 o both) = 19,000 per month

PC sales: 20 thousand in 4 months = 5 ,000 sold per month.

There is a difference, yes, but not as staggering as it seemed at first.

Lol pc wont get 1 mil sales. Its started to slow down
Thats not how you count the sales lmao its only boosted on first month, and after that its going very slow except for the popular game. Are you 8 y.o? THE ONLY JRPG THAT REACH 1 MIL SALES ON STEAM IS ONLY FF7

He doesn't even mention it'll get 1 million sales please be sure to read the words properly.
1 million was already platform combi, on Japan pc isn't a popular platform to play games.
Which is why PlayStation and Handled (vita and switch) are far more popular than Xbox and PC.
When it comes to PC Japan mostly talk about casual games such as VIsual novels.

Why are you implying the person is 8y/o are you felt offended?

Idk why you even took masterrace seriously though it does serve what it called a masterrace due being able to push game beyond limits and using it other than just playing game.

And tbh PC sales will remain low unless people want to invest one on proper PC gaming and developers Port a better quality for pc games.

Basically it's not pc fault for being bad except those pirates which pretty much in the brink of death due torrent site likely dying and small web will likely get erased.
It's Developer fault to Shut pc up especially some gamers have been avoiding to play games with Multiple DRM such as AC Origin.

If you dislike pc gaming that much you should stop playing games on pc.
Why talk so high but never justify your own words?
"It's my pc I'll do what i wanted"
- still play games on pc and i remember you being bashed in off topic forum.
Also i remember you saying BF2 was going to be amazing which it is but become the worst criticised game in history including most negative point in Reddit.

Also exclusive pretty much the reason people will buy different platforms.
