'P' Bottles in Chip & Dale

Hey, does anyone know what the bottles labeled 'P' do in Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers? It doesn't say in the 'How to play' section. In the pause menu where it says how much stuff you have, there's a number next to a 'P', but I also don't know what that means.

Yep, also I think it slight effects your lifting / throwing speed.

P - Power bottle. You can jump normally with heavy objects like apples.
