The artdesign is pretty much exactly the same, the UI is the same and they even took the Product Terminology by naming it "Hidden through time".
It pretty much instantly comes of as a successor to Hidden Folks. I instantly assumed it was the same studio or at least the same people.
It not being them, would not just look like a copy. Yes, its just a hidden object game, but its the entire appearance and presentation plus its name that goes beyond just creating a game with a similar premise.

I think the videos speak for itself. I didnt post them for you because I thought you were trolling. Because If you dont see similarities thats just laughable. You kinda admitted there are similarities though.
Have I ever played HOG? Yes. Both digital and physical. I think you do know they come in quite some varieties right? And yes they all look and play alike. But not as much as the 2 games mentioned here. Hidden Through Time could as well be a successor to HF, that much it looks and feels alike.
Builder type game? No, its a HOG and has a map editor. Which is a neat plus I must admit. But at its core its a HOG and it that part looks very, very, similar to HF.

That last sentence is funny. You don't know me. You just assume stuff. I never wrote anything was stolen. My thoughts about this if you're interested: they copied something succesful. Which, afaik, is not illegal. Even quite clever. But also lame.

I already created the point on what is similar overall.
Lets say the created a game in the same genre, with the exact same artstyle (it literally looks like Hidden Folks with colour), ok.
Then so be it.
But then they finished off by also applying the same Title on it?
I mean, one similarity, a coincidence, two similarities, a trend, everything being similar, a plan to create an exact copy.

This is not just a hidden object game.
If you took all the gameplay elements away and just judge the artstyles of both games, nearly identical.
The same goes for the UI.
There was no need to pack the objects you have to search into a bottom bar, it could have been on the top side of the screen, on any side, but its also at the bottom, has the same size as Hidden Folks etc.

If you truly look at both games, you see loads of similarities.
Which wouldnt be a problem, but honestly they could have created any hidden object game, name it with a title containing the world "Hidden" but then at least have a different artstyle.

Of all things that i can see that are different between both games, is the sole fact that thsi one has colours whereas Hidden Folks is black and white only.
Thats the only difference.


Dont get me wrong, i think its good to have more of this kind. And the original creator of Hidden Folks seems to take no affront of them simply making an exact copy.
Whether thats a problem for anyone here, is their individual decision.
But coming here claiming that two games in the same genre, with an identical look, UI and gameplay design AND name are totally different...dont act stupid please.
