ACTION GAME MAKER G 2.0.3 Patch Notes

Oct 8

Thank you for using ACTION GAME MAKER G. Version 2.0.3 is now available. This update includes a major change.

Major Changes

Support for Unique Node IDs

Actions and settings that target a node — such as "Change Property", actions that specify a connection point, and actions that specify a collision — now reference nodes by their Unique Node ID.

Until now, nodes were referenced by their path from the root node (or by their position in the scene), so reordering or renaming a node could break the reference. References set from this update onward will no longer break when you reorder or rename nodes.

How to Use Unique Node IDs

In 2.0.3 and later, a Unique Node ID is set automatically whenever you select a node in a supported action or setting.
For projects created in 2.0.2 or earlier, we provide a tool that sets Unique Node IDs for all references in the project at once.

How to use the bulk update

From the Project menu, select "Update Unique Node IDs in All Scenes..." (in Godot Mode, it is in the Tools menu).
A confirmation dialog explains that a backup will be created automatically. Click "Update".
A progress dialog, "Updating Unique Node IDs", will appear. Please wait until it finishes.
When it finishes, the number of updated references is shown, along with a list of items that could not be updated automatically. Double-click a row to open that location, and please set it again manually.

Note: If an open scene has unsaved changes, save it before running the update.
Note: Files to be changed are backed up to res://.actg_backup before saving.

This update keeps the existing node references (paths, etc.) as they are and saves the Unique Node ID alongside them. Projects updated with this tool will therefore continue to work in version 2.0.2 and earlier.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a crash when an object in the Player group was removed at the start of a scene transition.
Fixed a crash when loading save data that was saved while text was being displayed.
Fixed an issue where the "Animation" section in the tile settings collapsed every time an animation frame was added.
Fixed an issue where "Create New Group" in Maker Mode created a scene group instead of a global group.

Does AGM HTML5 export require HTTPS?

Hi, I’m currently testing the demo version of AGM. I have a question about HTML5 export. My website is currently HTTP, not HTTPS. When I export my AGM project with Thread Support enabled and upload it to my HTTP website, I get this error: “The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing: Secure Context - Check web server configuration (use HTTPS)” I also tried disabling Thread Support. In that case, the Secure Context error no longer appears, but the game stops at a b...

ACTION GAME MAKER G 2.0.2 Patch Notes

Thank you for using ACTION GAME MAKER G!
Version 2.0.2 is now available. Here are the main changes.

Improvements

Column labels are now displayed for Project Variables and Project Switches in the Change Variable/Switch window.
The "Export for AI" feature can now generate documentation for chat-based AI assistants.
In game scenes that use a Start Point, if a player object is already placed in the scene, that object is now used instead of creating a new one.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where game speed changes were not reset by Quick Restart and kept stacking up.
Fixed a crash that occurred when an object was created in the same frame that an object was destroyed (for example, when using sublayers).
Fixed an issue where "Do Not Revive" objects destroyed in another scene came back after saving and loading.
Fixed a crash that occurred when loading save data made in a different scene with "Load Saved Scene" turned off, if the parent node of a saved object did not exist.

Thank you for your continued support of ACTION GAME MAKER G!

AGMaker - 3D

Porque resolveram tirar o 3D da godot? sendo que estão tirando todo o potencial que poderiam ter se usa-se tudo o que a godot oference.

Will this support 2.5D level editor similar to RPG Maker U2U?

I see it supports 2.5D background but will it support 2.5D level editor in the future?

Could someone do a review on AGM top-down template?

Thinking of purchasing AGM only if it has good support for making top-down RPG like Zelda.

Curse my luck, finally got a PC again and JUST missed the sale

I had been working on a platformer called "Jessica's Uncomfortable Hanukkah Adventure" in early access on Steam when my PC blew up. Finally got a mini PC that could run this (I should move away from PGMMV since I gotta relearn things anyway) and I missed the discount by ten days. My birthday is Jul 13, any chance of a small discount to a long time PGMMV user? (can't hurt to ask) And if not, when are you planning on the next sale? I already lost two years of dev time due to this so a longer wait won't k...

It's WAY better now that they added Maker Mode!
If you've had issues in the past because of the UI, it's worth jumping back in!
I remember struggling with this software when I tried it last.
I even got my money back because i was just so disgruntled with it.
But it's so worth it now.
This time around i actually got a stage area made without frustration!
If you used Pixel Game Maker MV and AGM disappointed you, Action Game Maker G does NOT disappoint!
It honestly now feels like a more advanced version of Pixel Game Maker.
And if you have ANY issues, you can get help in the discord.
