Game refuse to launch [SOLVED]
I have all the others Dark Parables games. They all work except this one. It simply refuses to launch. My OS is Windows 10. I had try a clean reinstall & compatibility mode with Windows XP, 7 and 8. Nothing. :steamsalty:

I bought the game today and I have no trouble running it on Windows 10 64 bit with all updates installed. I didn't have to set compatibility mode or anything else.

When you try to launch the game, does nothing happen at all or do you get an error message?

Have you tried running the executable of the game directly? To do so, right-click the game in your library, select "Properties". In the new window, select the "Local files" tab and click "Browse local files". Now double-click "Dark Parables - Curse of Briar Rose".

If that doesn't help, maybe you can try temporarily disabling your anti-virus to see if it blocks the game from running.

I had tried both, even with the Steam client closed. It still dosen't work.

Have you tried running the game as adminitrator? To do so, open the local files of the game, right click the executable and select "Run as administrator".

Other than that, I can't think of anything else you could try to get the game to run, apart from contacting Blue Tea Games or Big Fish Games directly for support though their website. If everything else fails, at least get a refund from Steam for the game.

Launch as admin didn't work either. I had contacted Big Fish Games some days ago. They gave me a canned answer that didn’t solve anything, but at least I got a code for a free game. :heartg:

Here is my solution for Windows 7:
1. Right-click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties". Then click on the "Advanced" tab and then "Settings" under "Performance"
2. Choose "Data Execution Prevention" tab, then click "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select".
3. Add the "Dark Parables - Curse of Briar Rose.exe" to the list.
