Water Flicker Headaches
Game is good, mostly.

I'm starting to get headaches every time I go to the world map. It's not fun, and I have to stop playing after going to the world map a few times, sometimes after just a few seconds.

I can't do anything without going to the world map, and since visiting it three times in an hour and a half (best case currently) gives me such a headache I have to exit the game, I'm not going to get very far very fast.

Is there an easy and free fix for this? I already tried the ini file, it didn't help.

Well, this must be a problem on your side. I have no flickering on the world map...

Maybe start with your graphics drivers. These tend to have a whole lot of options to override things that a game is doing; try setting this to leave FF alone.

Setting what? The graphics drivers? Wouldn't telling the graphic drivers to ignore FFFADF prevent it from displaying at all?
As for a specific setting… where do I find the settings for the graphics drivers?
I'll look around Control Panel… I've never messed with graphics drivers' settings before, I usually fix visual problems with in-game settings, or "hidden" ini settings for games…

I found "Graphics Settings", but there were only three settings: system default (which was selected), power saving, and high performance.
I set FFFADF to high performance and it seems to have fixed the flickering.
Thank you so much, nor more flicker headaches~♡! :happy_creep:

Yeah, I know I didn't respond to your follow up -- even if I had looked at it in time, I wouldn't have been able to say anything. I never use these gfx-driver-settings, the NVidia "Experience" which claims to optimize settings for supported games etc.

For me, not having touched this stuff since forever as always worked, hence my suspicion that you used it before to "optimize" things, and these optimizations conflicted with the game.

Seeing that you have "power saving" settings, maybe it's even a Notebook-type of thing. For those, even "default" might try to mess with stuff that the game does to limit battery usage...

... but, the important thing is that the game works :-)

Notebook? Isn't that a Macintosh\Apple thing?
I do use a laptop, though. But back when I had a tower there was also power saving settings, though those were built into the settings for the graphics card, I think.

Edit:
Oh, right;
Again, thank you for your help.

It is indeed a game issue and not your computer; there is no fix as it happens randomly...

The best solution seem to restart the game until... It doesn't happen too often, in my experience.

I have the water flickering too, I just see it now and it's on the worldmap.
Haven't played in a while.
