Sadly I think so, since the EG route leaves too many questions. Tbh I didn't like that much the VG route due to the personality swap and other asspulls. The EG route started well but ended up being a bigger crap due to plot holes, useless deaths and so on (as already stated by UndeadWitch).
1: Goddess route
2: Evil Goddess route
3: Vile God route
Let's start with the Goddess route first,
I liked this one the most as it gives you the most satisfying ending and story (In my opinion), Sherman did become a Villan, yes, but in the end he turned out good (as seen by when they were in the goddess's light) and not only that, but everyone was happy... at least in the Eryn ending but still, considering how much Eryn cared for Fang in the regular/Eryn/Tiara etc route, it'd make sense for them to have a good ending; the whole entire gang survived in the end and even allowing you to have Tiara find her own way instead of regretting her bloodline... what I'm trying to say is that everything fits into place, Sherman killed Zenke, his sister etc in all of the routes and yes, in the Vial god route he said he wouldent because he swore to never kill again... yet he killed Zenke.... makes sense.
this is what I rate the Charter endings in the goddess route, 1 being the best, 3 being the worst.
1. Eryn ending (Makes logical sense in all ways)
2. Tiara ending (still all adds up but not everyone is happy, (Eryn is gone).)
3. Normal ending (Eryns is gone, Tiaras gone, Everyones gone)
Evil God Route:
when it comes to the evil god Route, I didn't have too many complaints, overall the game play was fun, the true Sherman side was revealed but there was valid reason for it being exposed, the endings are interesting and fine, however It's annoying how you don't get the part where Eryn and Fang are bathed in the goddess's light and it gets really emotional. One complaint I did have is the detail they went into at the end; I feel as if they rushed the end being like "Oh there's a new god.... dead bye", although I'm not going to give it a big con as they did explain that the Gods are from other dimensions
Vile God Route:
Man oh man... this route, in all honesty, the gameplay and most of the story of it isn't that bad.... but in this ending they managed to ♥♥♥♥ up the charters stories alot, Sherman is now the good guy and all Eryn does is talk down about Fang, most of the game from there is just about how the main protagonist in general (Fang) is ♥♥♥♥ and how Sherman is great. The story then goes on to piss you off more by making it so that Fang's memories are all mudled up even when he gets them back and by killing Galdo off without even having him remember Fang and the others what is just... no. The whole ordeal makes all of the first parts of the game seem like a mess, Eryns and Tiaras earlier sub-events what I think were named "Jealousy" for Eryn and something else from Tiara, are pointless when you get to the second part as it all both of them do is make fun of Fang for who he is etc unlike the normal routes where they'd give a dam if he died, they sent him out to fight monsters on his own.... and if he died or got injured then what? it makes no sense what so ever.
If the Vile god route is going to work, you'd need a completely driffrent part 1 to the game.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's nice to see that my post is still useful for talking about the game!
Yeah, all in all, I still consider the original route (the goddess one) the best one, albeit Sherman died and Marianna didn't join the party.
The Vile God one...meh, never actually liked it, both because I never cared for Sherman more thana character slot (which I don't use anyway), Eryn and Fang being separated, Characters' personalities being swapped, a total mess (the only thing I liked was Apollonious and Seguo mini dialogue in which he walked it like a dog);
Evil Goddess Route...yeah....the same old complaints of mine, can't really digest it.
Sigh, I hoped for a new route in which everyone lived happily and all.
While going back through the game, I've found that there's a Sherman ending (on vile god route) apparently in it Fang is traveling the world and just straight up packed and left, is Eryn still alive at the end of that? you don't see the scene where they speak to each other in the goddess's light and then she either goes or stays. If so than that kinda ruins the game for me (story wise) In the other endings you'd have the end scene where they speak to each other and say "fairys and their fencers are one" which is always true, but if Fang just got up left his friends and fairy, that just ♥♥♥♥♥ up the whole game for me.
I honestly don't remember, because I played only one time the Vile God route (Just got Eryn's ending and never wanted to play that route again), but if you are right, then man, the route gets one of the worst endings available...
Ah the normal one. Personally those are the only ones which I have always avoided due to the "no CG factor". XD
Evil Goddes Route as many says wasted potential
Overall i think goddess route better since the original game that brought me in to advent darkness.. and i simply feeling disapointed with advent darkness and this is the prove i found it less enjoyable then the original game.. i dont really care if they troll in vile god route story.. but looks like they going to make evil goddess route as canon for sequel and somehow hit me hard..
JP RPG game main selling point is only about their story since the gameplay is pretty much repeatitive even for tales that has lot of combo..
I honestly hope they will not follow the story from the evil goddess route (although there are plot holes left on purpose, but meh) due to so much inconsistency and died cast characters they throw off for no good reason. The writing was also really bad compared to the simple yet nice original route (goddess one).
I really don't know what the hell were they thinking; I mean, all main neptunia games have a true route in which you pratically gather all your party members, was that hard to do something like this in similar fashion for FFF:ADF? meh.
All I am going to say is I enjoyed the Vile God route a lot. And Sherman does get caught about his hypocrisy, but I do understand why you feel that way. Still waiting for that FFF sequel till this day.
Or maybe another FFF related game, although no direct sequel?
The whole reason behind pulling out the vile god swords would be because there are some great/helpul fairies in him; problem is as you said this still wouldn't excuse Fang's stupidity behind pulling out all of them.
The concept is a fine one by itself, but the execution was poorly done. Binding it to the story seems a bit forced due to what you just said.
