Vile God and Evil Goddess routes - thoughts [SPOILERS]
This should be obvious but this thread is meant to share thoughts and opinions about the new content, so anyone who has yet to clear these routes should avoid reading further. With that said, let's start!

I finally finished both new routes (chose the Harley ending for the first, Mariano/Marianna for the latter).
To be honest the new routes left me a bit salty, I expected way more, especially from the evil goddess one.

Basically on the Vile God route we end up maining Sherman for a good chunk of time, and while I don't dislike him being finally redeemed from his goddess route counterpart, the whole "the vile god distorted everyones minds making most of them douchebags" put me off so much. Why the hell Galdo was the only former member to have a drastic change and becoming so obsessed with money and a good position inside the dorfa facility, while most of the cast stayed the same more or less? Harley just got depressed and worked to fulfill her own desires (which isn't that different from the old world's one, Ethel was pretty much still an assassin, Apollonious was way more obsessed with the path of the warrior and so on). Imho, Galdo not only didn't deserve this, but this change wasn't necessary at all. The whole ending left a sour taste due to the world still being twisted, and I hoped a bit more about Harley's ending.

Also, why the hell, did Marianna try at any cost to get the Vile God power? And she even was able (albeit for a limited amout of time) to control him? WTF, Sherman's souls was consumed the right moment he offered his body to the Vile God, dying in the process and failing to control him, while Marianna was able to overcome it? It's like everything explained on the Goddess route doesn't make sense anymore.

This goes without saying but the vile god route is my less favourite between the three.

Now, for the Evil Goddess route:

The start of it wasn't that bad, we see Sherman sided with the bad guys from the start, becoming obsessed with his idea of absolute justice.
Now, I don't get why the devs chose to "sacrifice" Galdo yet again on this route too.
We somewhat have Fang trying to change the fate of the people who died in the past world, but failing most of the time.

Apollonious become an alcoholic, wait, what, seriously? And after doing all that work to heal him, he choose death anyway? <- This made me cringe so much, as he is my favourite character;

Noie. Who the hell is him, but most important: WHY HE JOINS THE PARTY?
I can concour the fact that many, if not all party member's are odd, creepy at times, and crazy but, he is so empty that, I don't know, I would have preferred to not recruit him at all;

Chiaki, we don't know who really she is, aside from the fact that she has an outstanding resemblance of Sherman (and his sister too, as he openly said that), who dies to protect Sherman, only to see him dead the second after? I...don't know what to say here;

Mariano/Marianna. Well, at least we somewhat changed her fate, made her act less like a ♥♥♥♥♥ and I personally liked some dialogs about her, I'd loved to know more about her past and whatnot, but we didn't get that much info;

For unknown reasons, Tiara doesn't share the Vile God's blood anymore.

So many random characters popped up with no clear explanation about them :/ and leaving a big "?" at the end of the game, with "Anji" (if I recall correctly her name) and her grandfather speaking about random stuff (and now we get to know that the deities aren't true deties but beings from another dimension...?)

I would have really loved this route if nobody from the main cast would have died, but instead get all along together, while trying to destroy the new organization; what I really like about this route is that we get Marianna on our side, and Eryn doesn't seems to disappear/return to the goddess after that.

I know that from the way I started this thread I feel a bit salty but, I'm not, It's just that I expected a bit more from the new routes. Also, which route do you guys and gals think now is the canon one?

I hope I'll not instill fear to most readers due to the wall of text I exposed here :P , I'd like to know everyone opinion on the routes :)

I enjoyed the character interactions the best here (like Sherman giving Eryn the biggest mental slap in the face by saying he can't replace Fang for her and perhaps make her realize that she is a lot closer to Fang than she thought)

(Even though it is the least likely to be canon one)

I still can't stand the Evil Goddess route for it's plotholes, inconsistant characters, and so much pointless deaths.

And if they were to ever make a sequel, would it be most likely based on the EG route?

Sadly I think so, since the EG route leaves too many questions. Tbh I didn't like that much the VG route due to the personality swap and other asspulls. The EG route started well but ended up being a bigger crap due to plot holes, useless deaths and so on (as already stated by UndeadWitch).

Personally, this is the order I'd rate the routes in terms of goddess's, number 1 being the best for me and 3 being the worst

1: Goddess route
2: Evil Goddess route
3: Vile God route

Let's start with the Goddess route first,
I liked this one the most as it gives you the most satisfying ending and story (In my opinion), Sherman did become a Villan, yes, but in the end he turned out good (as seen by when they were in the goddess's light) and not only that, but everyone was happy... at least in the Eryn ending but still, considering how much Eryn cared for Fang in the regular/Eryn/Tiara etc route, it'd make sense for them to have a good ending; the whole entire gang survived in the end and even allowing you to have Tiara find her own way instead of regretting her bloodline... what I'm trying to say is that everything fits into place, Sherman killed Zenke, his sister etc in all of the routes and yes, in the Vial god route he said he wouldent because he swore to never kill again... yet he killed Zenke.... makes sense.

this is what I rate the Charter endings in the goddess route, 1 being the best, 3 being the worst.

1. Eryn ending (Makes logical sense in all ways)
2. Tiara ending (still all adds up but not everyone is happy, (Eryn is gone).)
3. Normal ending (Eryns is gone, Tiaras gone, Everyones gone)

Evil God Route:
when it comes to the evil god Route, I didn't have too many complaints, overall the game play was fun, the true Sherman side was revealed but there was valid reason for it being exposed, the endings are interesting and fine, however It's annoying how you don't get the part where Eryn and Fang are bathed in the goddess's light and it gets really emotional. One complaint I did have is the detail they went into at the end; I feel as if they rushed the end being like "Oh there's a new god.... dead bye", although I'm not going to give it a big con as they did explain that the Gods are from other dimensions

Vile God Route:
Man oh man... this route, in all honesty, the gameplay and most of the story of it isn't that bad.... but in this ending they managed to ♥♥♥♥ up the charters stories alot, Sherman is now the good guy and all Eryn does is talk down about Fang, most of the game from there is just about how the main protagonist in general (Fang) is ♥♥♥♥ and how Sherman is great. The story then goes on to piss you off more by making it so that Fang's memories are all mudled up even when he gets them back and by killing Galdo off without even having him remember Fang and the others what is just... no. The whole ordeal makes all of the first parts of the game seem like a mess, Eryns and Tiaras earlier sub-events what I think were named "Jealousy" for Eryn and something else from Tiara, are pointless when you get to the second part as it all both of them do is make fun of Fang for who he is etc unlike the normal routes where they'd give a dam if he died, they sent him out to fight monsters on his own.... and if he died or got injured then what? it makes no sense what so ever.

If the Vile god route is going to work, you'd need a completely driffrent part 1 to the game.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's nice to see that my post is still useful for talking about the game!

Yeah, all in all, I still consider the original route (the goddess one) the best one, albeit Sherman died and Marianna didn't join the party.

The Vile God one...meh, never actually liked it, both because I never cared for Sherman more thana character slot (which I don't use anyway), Eryn and Fang being separated, Characters' personalities being swapped, a total mess (the only thing I liked was Apollonious and Seguo mini dialogue in which he walked it like a dog);

Evil Goddess Route...yeah....the same old complaints of mine, can't really digest it.

Sigh, I hoped for a new route in which everyone lived happily and all.

true but the I guess the closest that the community is going to get is the normal Eryn ending.
While going back through the game, I've found that there's a Sherman ending (on vile god route) apparently in it Fang is traveling the world and just straight up packed and left, is Eryn still alive at the end of that? you don't see the scene where they speak to each other in the goddess's light and then she either goes or stays. If so than that kinda ruins the game for me (story wise) In the other endings you'd have the end scene where they speak to each other and say "fairys and their fencers are one" which is always true, but if Fang just got up left his friends and fairy, that just ♥♥♥♥♥ up the whole game for me.

I honestly don't remember, because I played only one time the Vile God route (Just got Eryn's ending and never wanted to play that route again), but if you are right, then man, the route gets one of the worst endings available...

ahh okay, In that case I might replay the game and try figure it out, I did the normal ending (no Tiara or Eryn ending) in my first attempt, taking 17 hours, I then really wanted the Eryn ending so I restarted the game (Without carrying and thing over) and beat it on hard in aprox 6 hours or so, So If I speed run it again maybe I can beat it in 8-9 hours.

Ah the normal one. Personally those are the only ones which I have always avoided due to the "no CG factor". XD

Still on the Vile God route. To be honest, it's not as bad as it looks. I like Galdo's death in this because it shows the price of loyalty. Sucks he didn't join, but it was for the best. Right now, the VG route is looking good. After that, it's the normal route.

Vile God Route is bad because i simply hate sherman who is a hypocrite.. and he redeem himself quite easy with a very minor to no noticeable reason.. poor galdo.. i dont know what to say.. even after the other new route.. and what throw me off is how easy sherman recuiting apolonius.. on the other hand in goddess route aplonius chose to die for many times you even need to cure him with his sister amulet..eryn ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about sherman even more here that i rather not ever to thouch her ending ever again...not even if there is a sequel of fairy fencer not even more for my thropy
Evil Goddes Route as many says wasted potential

Overall i think goddess route better since the original game that brought me in to advent darkness.. and i simply feeling disapointed with advent darkness and this is the prove i found it less enjoyable then the original game.. i dont really care if they troll in vile god route story.. but looks like they going to make evil goddess route as canon for sequel and somehow hit me hard..

JP RPG game main selling point is only about their story since the gameplay is pretty much repeatitive even for tales that has lot of combo..

I honestly hope they will not follow the story from the evil goddess route (although there are plot holes left on purpose, but meh) due to so much inconsistency and died cast characters they throw off for no good reason. The writing was also really bad compared to the simple yet nice original route (goddess one).

I really don't know what the hell were they thinking; I mean, all main neptunia games have a true route in which you pratically gather all your party members, was that hard to do something like this in similar fashion for FFF:ADF? meh.

All I am going to say is I enjoyed the Vile God route a lot. And Sherman does get caught about his hypocrisy, but I do understand why you feel that way. Still waiting for that FFF sequel till this day.

Or maybe another FFF related game, although no direct sequel?

One thing I want to mention. In order to activate VG or EG routes, some swords or all swords have to be pulled out from the Vile God. Their whole goal is to revive the Goddess, which is obvious to not touch the Vile God at all. I just feel like they forced complete stupidity into Fang for him to actually pull them all out by accident. Pulling one sword by accident is one thing but all of them?

The whole reason behind pulling out the vile god swords would be because there are some great/helpul fairies in him; problem is as you said this still wouldn't excuse Fang's stupidity behind pulling out all of them.

The concept is a fine one by itself, but the execution was poorly done. Binding it to the story seems a bit forced due to what you just said.
