I'm playing at 1920x1080 and this blur effect is killing me.
Awwww damn :/
Holy crap. The bloom filter is cranked up pretty high on PS4 as well, but nowhere near as badly overpronounced as that. It looks like the PC port's developers turned the filter up to 11 and ripped the knob off.
For comparison: https://youtu.be/p6jP-RgYDrk?t=718
PS4 atleast still has some dark colors retained on Tiara's clothing. The PC is just a mess of overbright orange.
Also holy crap playstation games are so damn cheap on steam, i feel ripped off. Especially atelier sophie, it's more than 50% cheaper on steam.
It also had heaps of issues at launch which stil aren't totally resolved, afaik.
You get what you pay for, I guess?
This has several reasons:
In general, you will need a more expensive hardware package over the costs of a PS4 to play a game on the same quality (except frames) on pc. Or a much more expensive one to play it on significantly better visuals.
Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo actually make a minus for each console they sell. The big money comes later from selling the games, which is why they are more expensive.
A lot of console ports hit the pc later than the console. Could be months or even years. Then the initial price is often (not always) lowered to get people to play an older piece of software. Not saying ports were bad though, they often have better thought through game mechanics and controls. In case of Atelier Sophie they will soon release the next game from the series for PS4.
