We want to talk openly about Legends of Starkadia, where it stands, and a shift in our plans for the game.

When we launched Starkadia, we were deeply transparent about its development. As a small team, the original 11-planet vision was simply too massive. Rather than shelving two years of hard work, we packaged Scrap World, the first planet in the epic adventure, and released it for free. At the time, we told you we didn't feel right charging for it, and that we had no active plans to continue development.

We meant it then, but we’ve been doing a lot of thinking about the universe we built.

We love Starkadia, and we know a lot of you do too. We find ourselves constantly wondering, “what if we could finish the game?”

To honestly gauge if there is enough player interest to justify bringing Legends of Starkadia back into active development, we are shifting the game’s model. Think of the current game as Chapter 1.

On September 14th, Legends of Starkadia will transition from a free game to a paid game priced at $1.99 USD.

What this means for you:

• If you already own the game: Nothing changes. You keep it forever, for free. It will remain in your library.
  
• If you haven't grabbed it yet: You can download it for free right now until the transition date.
  
• Where the money goes: Every dollar from these sales will go directly into a dedicated bucket to help recoup our initial 2 years of development costs and, crucially, to fund future chapters if the demand is there.

We know this is a pivot from our previous post, and we don't take your support for granted. If you want to see Starkadia grow, buying the game (or leaving a review) is the ultimate way to vote with your wallet and show us there is an audience for it. If not, we are still incredibly proud to have shared this piece of our world with you.
