Anyone annoyed about getting accused of lying?
I got a bad ending, accused of lying/manipulating because of one inconsistency: I told one girl I wanted to settle down after high school, and another girl that I wanted to go with the flow. Didn't seem like a big difference to me (who knows when they're 17/18?), but the game gave me an ending that made it sound like I manipulated each girl, telling them drastically different things. (I even kept things platonic with both of them!)

It just felt really weird and jarring, since it's a minor detail that didn't strike me as an inconsistency at the time. Did anyone else have this happen?

It's also weird because the last conversation basically treated our friendship like a relationship. :/

100% consistency seems to be the only winning condition for the game, which is unfortunate. I got a similar ending dating Emily that you got for the same reason. I do wish the endings weren't so black and white, because sometimes I would pick a dialogue option that I felt meant one thing but would end up coming across differently (or would even just pick accidentally) and without restarting the chapter there's no way to go back and pick another dialogue. In a game where a lot of the conversations felt natural and realistic the way the endings are treated definitely felt rushed or thrown together.

Lmao I think I am headed down this route for a bad Emily dating ending. Oh boy...jeez man I'd hate to think what a real relationship would be like with this girl lmfao. She doesn't let anything slide (not even being late to reply to chat messages). My, God!

Yeah, I thought my response to Emily ("I'll take things as they come") didn't directly contradict settling down... so that was a bummer. :/ Since I was intentionally trying to be honest with all my responses.

I guess it's fitting as a high school simulator, though? It's frustrating, but maybe not entirely out of character for teenagers to get super melodramatic over something minor.

^ This.

I did the same thing, I don't understand how taking things as they come contradict the fact that you could want kids in 10-15-20 years, like wtf. And urgh Emily was so full of contradictions, in the end I kinda feel relieved to break up.

I've got the same trouble as the OP while dating Eve at the end. Also, I said Emily that I've gone to the third base, and when i was asked the same question by Evelin, I chose the option for "Kinda" - the most precise one, on my opinion. Protagonist then deleted "kinda" and typed in "yes". Guess what, I was accused of lying here as well.

Kind of a bummer, Eve is a nice person.
I was really going trough waiting for the 'I changed' option, wich never came, I am frustrated to hell with that.

It's funny how both don't get what you mean, if you say that you will see, maybe settle down or not, they take it as if it was like what they think
It's the only thing that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up my first playthough, Ugh that annoyed me since it wasn't my intention to be like that, and just roleplay as myself and not try to get both girl

I was really missing a "I'm indifferent" option with the settiling down / going with the flow stuff. I was waiting to explain myself to emily in the last dialogue, however that option never came. She just kinda ranted at me while my only choice was to accept that im apparently a liar.
That frustrated me so much that i actually wanted to break up too.

Emily is like "OMG you lied to me about this one thing , that you could really not have an answer to yet, because youre like 17 years old and havent made ANY PLANS AT ALL besides eating a dorito in like an hour, how could you change your mind, this is freaking unacceptable YOU MANIPULATING PIECE OF SH*T"
and i was just like "ok girl wtf, been nice talking to ya kthxbye" *runs away

Yeah that happened to me too and at the time i thought it was nothing but in the 5th chapter when she accused me of lying because of that i was really annoyed. I mean, basically i wanted to tell the girls the same thing but the game didn't let me ! What are we supposed to do ?! I'm really frustrated right now cause i just wanted to get emily's happy ending and now i have to do the game all-over again just for a lie i didn't want to make !

I first said to Emily that I didn't drink, and then half a year went by, where I told Evelyn that I did sometimes. At the end i got accused for lying and manipulating. I get the 100% thing, but no-one would make such a big deal out of that. I could have started drinking in the summer. Meh.

I think the writing was fantastic throughout but the final chapter is brutal if you made one or two tiny 'mistakes' where the end result is a shocking overreation by one of the characters. I told Emily I didn't want to settle down and that I drank sometimes and this came back to bite me hard with Evelyn at the end as I was accused of being a manipulator and liar when at the time I was just making casual conversation. The game puts you in a position where you essentially cannot change your mind in time. It's also a shame that this overlooks any alleged support and friendship I provided to Evelyn in the months prior.

In the end I told Emily to F right off and decided that me and Evelyn couldn't be friends before she made that inevitable decision for me as the conversation back and fourth was going nowhere and simply strained. If this was real life; I certainly would have washed my hands of both of them!

This is basically what I came here to type out. I was enjoying the game so much; Chapter 3 was brutally stressful, trying to balance both conversations and keep all the details straight. The dialogue was natural and flowed well. But by the time Chapter 5 rolled around, and that single choice completely altered how the ending would go, with no room for an "I changed my opinion/I'm unsure of my opinion" option, I couldn't help but feel kind of robbed of a remotely decent ending to the story.

To me, it feels nowhere near as well executed as the original game/story. Maybe I should start expecting that in games with varying endings/dialogue choices but, I feel like choices like that, where opinions can realistically change or certain dialogue options should be present, they shouldn't be the be-all-end-all of the end to your entire experience.

It's such a bummer; I enjoyed the original so much, and couldn't say enough good about it to others, even despite the linear nature the story ultimately takes. With this one... while the presentation is still top-notch, it's basically the same story, with what definitely seems to be an obvious yet frustrating flaw to the dialogue options (one choice based on opinions that can change shouldn't dictate the entire ending, when every other choice lines up perfectly).

I just realized: in my case, I went for Evelyn, and this ending came about having told Emily that going with the flow sounded alright, but telling Evelyn a family might be nice. But I spoke with Emily first, and Evelyn second. So, essentially, what Evelyn ultimately believed was that my opinion could never have changed, or even been on the fence (as I felt it came across), after having spoken with her. What this game tells me is that all of my opinions must be completely set in stone with every person I speak with at all times, and that any changed opinions or difference in movie/musical taste must be shared with every individual I know in order to avoid arguments.

Not sure I could be more annoyed with this, now. =/

I felt the same way. There wasn't an "neutral" drinking option (once in a while but not regularly) so I told Emily "No I don't", which became "No, I never do". Later I told Evelyn "Sometimes yeah," which was more accurate. Everything seemed to be going fine in the story up until the end where Emily suddenly decided that the whole friendship was nothing because of that inconsistency. Misunderstandings happen in real life, but at that point the game had decided that I was a purposeful liar and that I either had to try to apologize or break it off. It was infuriating and really left a bad taste in my mouth.
