VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum Steam Edition

VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum Steam Edition

My Sony VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum Steam Edition has a error that stops it from oppening up and working.
I got this strange error and don't know how to fix it without rebuying it.

It says this : Launch_MovieStudioPlatform140.exe

"D/Documents/New folder/steamapps/common/Movie Studio Platform 14.0/MovieStudioPlatform140.exe"

The System Cannot find the file specified.

Error Code 2

this is the best set of consolidated steps , to getting Any vegas installed .

it should correct and fix three errors :
2 , 59 , and No License

Magix should flag their post of this,
as a major solution , in each of the Vegas Steam forums ,
to get Any Vegas installed .

a major trick is a need to Un-install vegas , twice .
once from within Steam , and
once from within windows Control Panel , uninstall dialogue window .

Essentially the error is telling you that some file is missing because it was never installed in the first place.
For a variety of technical reasons, our software doesn't install in quite the same way as most Steam games so the actual installation doesn't occur until the first time you effectively start the application.
The Steam client simply waits for the installer to finish his work and assumes it has completed successfully, whether it actually has or not. In order to solve this problem we need to get back to a "clean state" by uninstalling/removing any currently installed components of our software and starting over.

- The first step will be uninstall the software through Steam.
- In your Steam Library, right-click on the listing for your application and choose "Delete LocalContent".
- The second step will be uninstall the software through Window.
- Go to the Windows Control Panel and choose "Uninstall a program".
- In the "Uninstall a program" list, look for the entries about the application you need to uninstall(there might be more then one).
- Uninstall them by right-clicking on the listing and choosing "Uninstall".
- After uninstalling from both Steam and Control Panel, restart your computer.

Then uninstall option can also be called "Add/Remove Programs", "Programs and Features", or other similar names.

Restarting your computer is a critical step in this process. Do not skip it!

- After restarting your computer, it's time to try installing again. Return to your Steam Library, select your application, and click "Install".
- After Steam tells you the program is finished downloading, click the "Launch" button.

The most common reason our installer fails is because the computer is waiting to be restarted. Since you restarted your computer in the last section, this will resolve the problem if that was the issue on your system.

If you're still seeing the error at this point, it's likely your installation is failing for another reason. Now it's time to find out why. To do that, you'll need to apply the following steps:

- Disable all antivirus or other security software.
Navigate to the installation folder of your application.

In this folder, you should find the installation file of your application.

- Create a new folder called like your application, for example "Vegas Pro 15".
Run the file installation file you found in the installation folder of your application.
Proceed through the installation steps until prompted to choose an install location.
Once you have the correct location chosen, click "Install".
After installation return to your Steam Library and try to launch your application. It should
start correctly.

wow .

windows 10 here too .

when re-installing , some Steam stuff was still on the drive .
i had gotten errors 2 , 59 , No License ,...all of a sudden .
i think there was even the File "140.exe" missing file error .
( something like that ) .

the Double un-install was the trick , that made All of the Vegas stuff install and run .
that's how it worked here .

i have no idea what else could happen .
