What is the best CPU for this program? Or hardware

I currently have the i5-6500 and 20GB of two different RAM types. So i know already your going to scream at me for that but im thinking of putting together a new system.

I do a lot of gaming so intel was always the choice for this build, but with ryzen now out and cheaper than intel's CPUs, is it a smart choice to go for that?

The main problem is that my current CPU maxes out when rendering, which most CPUs probbaly do. Im wondering if getting a ryzen CPU would make things better in terms of rendering and video streaming / gaming at the same time, or will an i7 be sufficcently optimised for this program?

Sorry for the long -winded questions but i just want to know what this program favours more, and will something like the new 6 core intel CPUs be good enough for my needs?

re-reading your questions , i say : if your GPU is game worthy right now , and you say
that it is ,...then go straight to Vegas 15 for GPU rendering .


Vegas 14 favours CPU only rendering . Vegas 14 supports up to 16 Threads\cores .
the more CPU cores , the faster Vegas 14 will render . the big Ryzen is expensive .
the big Ryzen won't help gaming ,...for gaming , you need a good GPU anyway .
Ryzen 8 + 8 , would be the Top match with Vegas 14 ,...it'll cost ya .

a decent GPU can be had for much less then a big Ryzen , then get Vegas 15 ,
and your gaming will be good too .

Vegas 15 supports present day GPU's for rendering from AMD and Nvidia .

if you don't use GPU , then Vegas 14 will give your CPU cores a really good workout ,
Vegas 14 can offer a lower price point , compared to Vegas 15 .

Thanks. This helps a lot. I may get vegas 15 but im considering getting the i7 7700k soon so rendering might get a bit better, but thanks for the help!
