Update Ruined The Visuals
First time I've played in a little over two months. This new update has absolutely ruined the visuals of this game.

1. It's freaking ugly now. It used to be kind of real-looking if you didn't look too close. Now it's outright cartoon-looking.

2. The people have this annoying motion blur behind them when they walk. Check out the three people walking just right of the tree at bottom center. (see 1st screenshot.)

3. When you mouse over the people, even their names are somewhat blurry.
(see 2nd screenshot.)

4. The grass doesn't look like grass anymore. It now looks like that horrendous avocado green color carpet that was popular in U.S. homes back in the 70's.

5. The carrot tops are flat & rectangular. They look like green sheets of paper standing on top of the ground. (see 3rd screenshot.)

6. In the top right corner, under the words "Build basic workshops", there are three gray lines of words. They are supposed to be telling me which workshops I need to build, but these lines are so damn small that they are unreadable.
(see 4th screenshot.) I tried the setting for UI scaling. It doesn't work on these.

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, that's ugly.

The blurry thing is most likely temporal anti-aliasing. I thought I had switched it off. Seems like something turned it on again.

The "cartoonish" outline effect is supposed to be much less obvious. The game should still have a somewhat realistic look. I'll tweak it. Looks much less strong on my machine.

The plants - omg, yes. That slipped through. They are the victim of a shader update. Fixed it.

The UI scale was an oversight. It'll be fixed in the hotfix I'll push out later today.

Those lines scale with the UI now, but they're still too small to read on my 22" monitor. They should be bigger to start with, like maybe the same size as "Build basic workshops". I don't know how the visual update changed these lines, but I could read them before that update.

Is the quest font size specific to each map, or the same size across the game? Tried the Kroburg (Story) map tonight, and the quest font is just as small here as it was on Schramberg (Story) map. Does not appear to be any bigger than when I made my original post.

It's the same size across the game. It's weird if it didn't change. Can you make a screenshot?

oh. There seems to be a bigger issue there. That screenshot looks nothing like it should. Does the map always look like that? Without any trees or grass?

I played this map twice on Feb 6th, and it was pretty much back-to-back plays. The first time the graveyard showed, as well as an east-west road at the bottom of the area. The second time neither the graveyard nor the road showed. Trees didn't show either time.

In January, I played 4 times. There was Hellhafen (hard difficulty, Jan 6th), Schramberg (twice on story mode, Jan 6th), and Ziegwald (easy difficulty, Jan 29th). None of those maps looked bare. So, so far the bareness is unique to the Kroburg (story mode) map.

That's correct, this was mostly a code/bugfix update.
