Download pmr_dat_tools.zip and unzip it.


To extract
- Just drag & drop any .dat files in the pic folder. This will create a new folder as .dat file's name and extract all of the images to the folder as .PNG.

To rebuild
- Just drag & drop any folder that you've extracted. this will create a brand-new .dat file for it.

* DO NOT RENAME ANY .PNG IMAGE FILES.
* MULTIPLE FILES/FOLDERS ARE SUPPORTED

I downloaded the file but it's only 4KB ... this can't be right, right? when extracted the total size is 8KB .. The direct link doesn't work either (Forbidden! you don't have permission to access)

I'm guessing it might be my ISP do something stupid or your webhosting hate my ISP (which is very understandable). If it's not too much trouble can you upload the file somewhere else? maybe google drive, MEGA, or mediafire, etc

It's only 4KB zipped file though.

so it's only 4KB o.o; .. so my download is not corrupted then. Somehow both programs always close immediately after i run it. Any help? I'm using windows 7

or maybe i have to run the program in my princessmaker game directory?

EDIT: Nevermind, turns out it's just straight drag & drop the .dat file into the exe file, running the exe file is not needed lol

Thank you! I hope this is okay though? Is it illegal?
I think CMK has a great opportunity to make this an official thing, cos a modding scene always makes games more popular and social. It could be like a steam workshop!
I know a lot of people already have fanarts of "[insert character here] Maker" so it'd be great to be able to do silly edits like that. (personally I'd love to swap out the princess and butler for Glenda and Mr Gaga from the anime)
though I dunno, if you wanna do an uncensor patch or whatever then you could do that. I didnt even know PM Refine had anything censored though, from what i've seen so far the fairy CGs are completely nude compared to the DOS version and they added the blood back in for the various battle face images.

Sorry I typed that while half asleep. What I meant to say is that I downloaded and unzipped the files, but I don't know how to use to edit anything. Do they need to be in with the other picture files..... FYI I'm new at this

1. download & unzip the files (any drive/folder will do)
2. go to your "princess maker 2 refine" pictures directory, it will be in (write your steam folder here)/steamapps/common/Princess Maker 2 Refine/pic
3. you will see a bunch of .dat files. These files contains pictures
4. drag & drop the files to pm2r_dat_extract.exe to extract it (do not run the exe, nothing will happen if you do that, simply just drag & drop it)
5. a new window will appear, just wait for the extraction process. The files will be extracted in your princess maker 2 refine's pic directory
