How exactly do you play this game?
It may sound dumb, but I'm clueless as to how I should approach this game.

First thing I did, I made her do house cleaning for several months so that she has the skills to be able to work at the Inn or Restaurant so to get money, but the money I get isn't enough to cover Kung-Fu, which I need to do to be able to survive during errantry. It seems to be an endless cycle as it doesn't help that the jobs lower my Attack stats.

I then tried to do Errantry right at the start so I could have the much needed money, but that didn't go far, I haven't made a single cent because Olive gets beaten up.

In short, how should I start with my girl? Survive errantries? My girl can't possibly live off cleaning and cooking alone.

It all depends on how you want to raise her, but as for the basics with having a steady flow of cash its a bit complicated at first.

For starters, Studying costs a LOT of money. If you have around $500 or so then you can most likely pay for studying.

Make her work at a job she's good at, when working at that job read what stats are increasing. The stats that are increasing are the stats needed to do well at the job, so you can study to raise those stats and come back and work very well at the job. If you do perfect at a job you'll get a 50% bonus on your paycheck. Also, a job that doesn't get rid of the attack stat and offers good cash early on is farming. It is a stressful job for your daughter though, and decreases elegance and such.

Keep in mind that if you do a job many times you'll get a raise. Also keep in mind to make sure your daughter stays obedient, otherwise she'll slack off during work sometimes during the entire period making you 0 money.

It's hard to understand at first, but once you find that balance you'll be good to go.

Thanks to your advice, she was able to defeat her first enemy and bringing home some loot. I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Wow, yeah, she managed to defeat the War God and all. I truly appreciate the advice.

I recommend a very simple solution to you. That is, winning the championship in cooking contest, and get money enough to give education to daughter. How to win the championship in cooking contest is simple.

First, do housework until cooking skills is raised to 100.
Second, after that, work as a babysitter until sensitivity is raised to around 200.
(It is possible with sensitivity of around 150 to win the championship, but not definitely.)
Third, take part in cooking contest and win the championship.

Well, that's one way to win the first cooking contest, but I prefer to let my daughter do farm work for a while, and use the money gained to do martial arts training. With a bit of fighting ability, take on the forest adventure, and cheese out the Fairy Tea Party event to max out the cooking skill. Plenty of other ways to get Sensitivity, especially with the cash you earn working and adventuring, so I don't even bother grinding that one.
