Help! Can't actually launch the game.
I just bought the game on steam and I can't launch it. Every time I try I immediately get an error and the following information in my crash log:
Error occurred at 2020-04-04_095158.
D:\Programs\Steam\steamapps\common\The House of Da Vinci\The House of da Vinci.exe, run by Kytrin.
39% memory in use.
16317 MB physical memory [9868 MB free].
18749 MB paging file [10032 MB free].
134217728 MB user address space [134213259 MB free].
Read from location 0000000e caused an access violation.

I am on windows 10. I have rebooted. Everything is up to date. I've uninstalled and re-installed the game. I've verified the steam client works by launching other games fine. I've checked file integrity. I've checked there isn't an isp lag issue. Not really sure what else to try at this point.

FIXED IT!

After a hell of a lot of tinkering I read that Citrix Workspace can cause problems with launching Steam games. I went ahead and uninstalled mine, and poof it works!

I'll have to re-install it for work of course, but I'll have to be mindful that it's an issue.

EDIT: Okay, I can further confirm that if the latest version of the Citrix Workspace app is installed NONE of my games (which are all puzzle games like this one) will launch. Furthermore, you don't actually have to have Citrix running for it to be a problem. All it has to do is just be there. So if you use Citrix, either uninstall it before trying to play or brace yourself for it to not work. It MAY work with older games/software but I'm not sure.

Thanks for this info. I just installed the game yesterday on my new pc and it hasn't been able to load. Now I know it's the Citrix app I have installed for work. Ugh. <3

Thanks for tip. Will remove Citrix Workspace and try again.

Fixed! Removing Citrix Workspace solved the crash problem (on Windows 10). Unfortunately, I need to use Citrix Workspace everyday for my job... so cannot simply jump into the game when I have free time.
