Can't finish astrolabe

So, I got the correct settings for the four moons, and then the tiles started moving, but I had no clue what the hell I was suppose to do (it isn't clear at all). So I didn't get the white flash everyone has mentioned. Now, nothing works. I can't reset it or anything. I'd rather not have to reset the entire chapter, but that's about where I am.

When the tiles start moving on the big hanging-down thing with the four moons, notice that there is a crossing bar with two sunbursts, next to the tiles that move. You must turn the bar with the two sunbursts, so every tile that "drops down" is aligned with the crossing bar while being dropped down. It if is, the dropping down symbol will turn blue for a brief moment.

Don't worry, you don't have to catch them all in one go, you can turn the bar with the two sunbursts back and forwards several times. When each symbol dropping down has been aligned with the bar at least once, the game proceeds.

Thanks for the response, but I'm guessing you didn't actually read my post.

I know what I have to do (now), but I didn't understand right away, and then I was stuck because it will not reset and let me attempt again.

I ended up having to start all over and I was able to get past it finally.

Good that it worked. I abandoned that task the first time, came back and was able to finish it on the second try. It is one of the weirder puzzles.

Agree, it's hard to understand what they even want you to do. JVC's explanation helped me get past the first stage, so far, which was pretty cool since even people who made videos on it didn't really explain what they were doing here.

I have the same issue with Astrolabe puzzle not giving the medallion at the end as has been reported, and I am not using the Steam version. Anyone know if the devs released a patch for it?

Did you go through the astrolabe-and-giant-wheel puzzle twice, or only once? You have to do set and operate both devices two times, once to get the T-shaped key for the astrolabe and again to get the medallion.

I am playing this in Jan 2020 and having this issue, having read the thread this issue should have resolved with a game update but I have only been playing it a few days, and I can't get passed the astrolabe puzzle as the wheel isn't turning and therefore I can't get the medallion. I have turned the wheel once but after setting the moons for a second time and then getting a "flash" on the bit above the moons, the wheel isn't turning. It is getting very frustrating!

I had the same issues and was very frustrated until I reset the moon phases. It seems as if it is very touchy and will not work properly unless the four moon phases are just right.

All of he above I am going to try one last time this will be my third try on chapter 7. tiles wont click in place, pulled out ( WRONG).cant get back will have to start again. Driving me nuts Phew !!!

this is still the same problem in 2022. There is no explanation, or I haven't found one as to what we are supposed to do, other than watch a video or look at other players questions and answers. The rest of the game gives more clues as to what to do next. I finished the game but this astrolabe/ lunar positioning part was the most time consuming

It's HORRIBLE, just HORRIBLE, LMBO!! I am laughing but it's the hardest thing I've ever played in HOD, and also harder than any I've had in The Room series! I appreciate the help I got here, especially the first reply to the OP by JVC ;)

This helped a lot JVC, I am taking it slower this time and know I'll get it again. I got it the first round, but the second I'm still working on

I did it but it's hard to explain, but I'll try. I can't believe I did it after several tries! Ok, so when you get your 4 moons right, and it sends you up to the suspended "crazy" wheel, you go for the "arm" that has the ornamental flowery looking thingies on each end. Then of course all those tiles start flippin out. But just slowly start turning the arm and "sighting" each tile with the letters on it right between the bar, as they stick out and just go over one at a time and they light up. Once I did that the big flash went off and I was done. All I did was one row of letters. I hope this makes sense.
