Thank you.
As for the symbols: You know triangle is solution 3 because you can examine that one directly, and you can also examine the barrel on the bottom floor to get the shape associated with solution 1 (I think the dodecahadron). You then know 2 by process of elimination.
From the model aircraft in the viewer you'll find each geometric shape besides it's alchemical symbol.
Starting from the top of the furnace you have to arrange the wheels so the totals make 2, 4 and 8. There is only one solution that does this. Moving down you have a quantity for each column and you know know the alchemical symbol that matches that quantity.
Hope that clarifies things.
Adding this to the paper plane thing, you know that the liquid 1 is the Octahedron, associated to the chair-like symbol - and the number in the examined liquid was 2. Then, the third liquid is the triangle, with the tied-bandana-like symbol, with 8 'molecules' in the liquid.
This leaves the 2nd liquid to be the squares, with the headless lizard-like symbol, and the number of them is 4.
It took me a loooong time to get it, and the puzzle that follows is again a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that I can't get yet.
This does not mean I did not like the game - far from it - thing is that the logical solution had many ways to go - hence it was too hard for me to get.
As my late papa was saying - the one not working with his head - has to work with his feet...fingers in my case...:-)
