How do I remove blockages

Sorry to necro this post, and I guess you found the answer yourself meanwhile, but for anyone else that’s wondering (after all pretty few people are playing this game). Blockages are all removed by just playing every level, especially the ones close to blockages. I myself was also stumped a few times, but really, just playing everything available will open everything up.
