Estab Editor Help
I am trying to generate duplicates of an infantry unit. However once I try to establish the estab from an XML into a Coe, it fails to import sides with a long list of errors. Any help would be great!

Can you share a screenshot or such showing the errors you are getting?

One of the most common errors are missing estab image picture files (bmp). you can either strip out ALL the images via the editor (long) or cut and paste the images from another estab into the subfolder: (estab name)...Estab_images.
Its nice to have the pictures, but they're a pain in the wazoo to manage with new estabs. Hope this helps.

1. Rename the Estab.xml containing your new unit and data from any legacy units you're using in the new Estab (e.g. "new name"Estab.xml").

2. Create a directory under Estabs named "new name"Extab_Images.

3. Copy image files from the original Estab_Images directory and paste into the "new name"Estab_Images directory.

4. Compile "new name"Estab.xml into COE file. During the compilation process the program should seek out legacy images in the "new name"Estab_Images directory to include in the new COE and skip over any Estab units which contain no image file name reference (e.g. the new infantry units you're duplicating). Any error messages you get should deal with the data in your new Estab units rather than any unit where the program can't find an image to insert into the COE.

I appreciate the quick response, does any understand how to change the damage or rate of fire for weapons? I don't really have a solid understanding on for example SMGs or Rifles and how to change their effectiveness?

Review pages 19 and 20 of the Estab Editor manual.

Review pages 19 and 20 of the Estab Editor manual.
I've skimmed through it a few times now, I'm talking specifically about small arms preformance adjustments IE M1 Grand or M1 Thompson.

The details are there.

It's two pages.

Try reading them.

Relax Mr. Detail no wonder you only have two friends, you can't edit the ranges on them as you can't adjust the tables for small arms as the guide briefly touches on mainly artillery. I can only edit ones that are already existing and I was inquiring if maybe there was another way. The only thing you can edit that I've found is changing the caliber size and muzzle velocity.

I can edit them.

I learned that by reading the manual.

Open a weapon in the estab editor, then click on the 'Peformance' tab. Now, look under 'Calibre', there is a box with the following: aair, aarm, aper, bombard, smoke. These allow you to set the range, accuracy, and armour penetration for the weapon when making different types of attacks. In order, they are: anti-aircraft, anti-armour, anti-personnel, bombard (artillery fire), and smoke. So for example, if you are modding the M1 Garand you probably only want to tick the 'aper' box. This should then let you enter custom info for the weapon performance when targeting non-armoured targets (infantry etc).

Also, after selecting 'aper' you will need to make sure that there is an ammo type listed in the 'Ammo' box. If this box is empty you will need to click on the 'ammo' estab (top-left corner of the screen) and then click and drag a suitable ammo type over to the ammo box. You will then be able to enter your custom range details.

Haha thank you so much, I didn't realize you had to actually click the already checked box, thanks my dude.
