Command Ops 2 Core Game

Command Ops 2 Core Game

estab editor question
I've been really obsessed with doing multiple different mods as this game (simulator?) I've been playing a lot over the last 6 months and after looking into the estab editor a bit I was amazed by how much can actaully be edited so I've been really wanting to create the armies of the soviet union in the cold war because I have the TO&E, order of battle, and dozens of other documents and books entirely about soviet operational art and this game is perfect for modeling it. I was also thinking of creating some scenerios of the current syria war and using the cold war stuff I'm designing for the SAA and creating a scenerio with the Tiger forces or 4th armored div facing off against ISIS in a desert map where the ISIS forces would be a hodgepodge of different pieces of equipment and techinical trucks. It's quite easy to make toyota technical trucks, literally just dragging and dropping SU-23-2 AA gun onto simple truck frame which is speedy but unarmored and using it in small cavalry line support formations or putting them in with some line units.

Anyways, the issue I've had is every single time I try to compile the estab I get the same error (after I fixed the legitimate errors)

The strange thing is I loaded up the estabs of mods I have which I didn't change at all that definitely should work, and even these estabs fail in exactly the same way when I try to compile which is weird because *somebody* had to compile it at some point for the mods to work at all.

It says it's just an issue with weapons and vehicals not having images, but there's a check box in each estab form that can be clicked if it doesn't use an image, and every single one that doesn't have an image has that box checked.

Should I go through the entire estab and link a random png image to every single weapon or vehical that doesnt already have an image to see if that solves it?

By the looks of it you have made a copy of one of the base establishment files and are now adding soviet units to the roster. Is this correct? If this is the case then the error messages will be related to the image files for the units that are already in the base establishment (Germany, Great Britain etc.) and not the new units that you are adding.

To fix this problem you need to copy the image files for the base units over into your EasternFront_Early_1944_Images folder. The correct images to copy over will depend upon which base establishment file you are editing. So, for example, if you have edited the base WestWallEstab file then you will need to copy all image files from the WestWallEstab_Images folder and paste them into your EasternFront_Early_1944_Images folder.

Hope this helps.

I was going to say the same. Thanks gustavhoward for chiming in here, and good luck in your design efforts ND.

FWIW, why don't you start a thread on your development efforts.

Cold War scenarios are a logical expansion of CO2, but those situations require more flexible solutions for mobility (air mobile operations / tactics), operational independence (insertion operations with no fixed supply base), communications, and up to date weapons effects (cluster bombs for example).

A discussion of those issue and others encountered during development would be beneficial to developers and players alike.
