english version
I remember playing an english version in the early 90's. Are there any plans on doing that again, and release it on steam??

Japanese developers hate everyone. They get us hooked on their games and release follow ups only in Japan. In this case even though we all know this game was already released in English they still don't care.

You always hope that some day, some people think of all of us others who love the old classics you hardcore gamed when you were younger but you do not want to buy because they can not Find out to put the English version up.
Bandit King of ancient China could easily be a game I bought on the spot if there were some who would like to spend some time translating the game into English.
But now we have to see.
I still hope for the miracle to happen.

Yes i loved all those games when was younger and they were in English. But many of them are now free (abandonware) on websites with old games aren't they?
m.and: this game don't need traslating to English, it already had English translation which wasn't released here.

hi Alamar. I know it had and english translation. I played it on my very first computer many years ago. And you correct again, you can for sure find them as abandonware on various websites. I'm just not sure how stable that version is like abandonware.
Therefore, I would prefer to buy the game on steam.
Because then the version is hopefully better than the average.
Now, I also have the attitude that if you publish a game on an international platform like steam, the games published should at least be in English.
The market could be bigger for that type of game if you'd like to integrate an English version from the start.
But maybe it's just me who thinks high ??

Amiga version was best AI wise, graphic wise, translation wise AND MUSIC WISE. It was very stable. If they can only port this to PC its a win. I mean if I can use WINUAE to emulate my Amiga and can still play it, it must be just a few days work to package it into an emulator and run it standalone on PC.
And I wonder why they never followed this title which was easily better than RoTK series. It has great plot, great characters and with a good AI and sme Nobunaga style work it can be a great title.g

You can get this for *FREE* from some places on the internet (in english). One place is myabandonware.com. Problem is though it's not totaly compatable w/win10. It's an old Dos game. Works good though.

Sucks Ars no english version.

It's easy to find an abandonware English version. But I would like to pay the devs for an official version of my all time favorite Nintendo game.

strange - but most likely they just sold the publishing rights for foreign languages, and don´t own them...some dude from koei should go ahead and look whos owning copyright now

The NES version was in English. They showed BKOAC 2 but it was never released in English.
Thats the one I'd love to play. I think I had more hours on Bandit Kings than I did on Morrowind. We need Total War: Bandit Kings of Ancient China.
Or Bandit Kings 2022.

Never tried the amiga version. A friend of mine bought it years ago on floppy disks for pc. Then I borrowed it from him, and got it installed, and I was hooked.

Hoping they'll add english later on but what a huge swing and a miss by the publisher to not include english right out of the gate on Steam.

Added all these titles to my ignore list for now; maybe I'll revisit if news breaks about english updates

sad face
