Make sure you got good resistence to ice aswell, and always buff your team in boss battles.
and poison gas for lance
Healmore and regen for natz
(If there are holy eyes get the dark moves and focus on them first otherwise they will heal the enemies and make your life much harder)
Keep poisoning the mammoth until it reaches poison 9 it will take around 7-8k dmg per turn that way
(Fire bits are never a problem with me because 2 of them never tend to kill me but if they are for you just use Iceberg or T2 ice for natz on them)
(If anyone wants to add some stuff into my method feel free)
P.S i didn't have poison gas at the time because i didn't see that lance had it but can someone tell me does it target 1 or all enemies ;p
EDIT : Here's a side note if you feel like it you can also have toxic for natz
EDIT : poison gas does target all enemies :p but you can still use it if you feel like it
Otherwise try to fight the boss when all 3 of them can use their special skill, starting with Nat's and then Matt's Cleverage (I use the fire-sword for him since it only took me 3 poison strikes to get it to max poison) and with Lance I just take down their defence while using him as some back-up.
I tend to not get rid of all enemies around the boss as they tend to summon stronger ones if you do
Where did you get the fire sword? I couldn't find it anywhere ._.
( before my turn),
anyone know if their attacks are magical or physical?
My guess is probably magical
I cannot remember but have you checked all chests in the Ice-area? it may be in the hidden cave left of the Igoo's with the 3 men (I think, sorry but I really do not remember) but I know you can get it without anything too hard in the way.
Or it may be in the store? i am sorry I don't remember fully but I know I had it before the Mammoth because I had it at level 2-3.
I'll see if i can find it myself until i give up and look for a guide lol
It must be in one of the chests then because it was one of the first swords I got I am sure of it!
This was on epic mode by the way, don't think it's very different from normal mode or whatever mode you're playing, but if anything the other modes should be easier. Unless there are no starting enemies, which would actually make it harder.
As for tips on dealing with the Mammoth, I found evasion was better than high defense because the mammoth simply dispelled my defense. Use Matt's reflex and have either Natalie or Lance spam flare. Just leave the initial guys alone since, while they are annoying, they're far less dangerous than most of the other stuff he could summon. The worst the bits can do is freeze someone and the holy eyes waste turns healing instead of attacking.
They count as bombs because they suicide on you
Matt: Syphon the mammoth with the Rune Blade to prevent it casting magic, keep Protect buff active to soak his phys attacks.
Nat: Keep the Regen buff & Auto-Life on Nat active, Heal / Revive as needed.
Lance: Airstrike holy bits & monoliths [ignore the rest], med packs if Nat gets stunned.
All: Poison attacks whenever possible till mammoth has 9 stacks worth.
If you keep it syphoned it can only attack with phys, one of which can dispell you, so don't waste MP on other spells like shield / aim / other debuffs. Limit breaks help.
