PSA: Random crashes with Bitdefender

If you are experiencing random but regular crashes while in-game, it is likely that your Anti-Virus software is interfering with the game and could make it crash silently.

Please add the game's executable to your Anti-Virus's local protection whitelist.

In Bitdefender go to: Protection Tab > View features > Advance Threat Protection > Settings icon (besides ON) > Add launch.exe > OK.

Here is the procedure from the bitdefender website: https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/2393/

The game's executable is in your Steam's app folder, usually

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Another Brick in the Mall\launche.exe

If it's not there, you can right-click on the game in your Steam library, select Properties > Local files > Browse local files.

If you are using the free version of Bitdefender, you will have to turn off the protection shield while playing (I'd recommend to uninstall it and rely on Windows defender instead).

Ok I use Bit Defender.... I am praying this is what I have been looking for. Will follow suggestion and see if it works. Will change my review as promised if this fixes it.

I am using Bit defender free and it has no options like this.... If I just close Bitdefender when I play will that work

I just tried the free version and didn't find a way to whitelist anything.
If you do close it completely the game should stop crashing.

Great thanks will give it a go. The free version does not even let you close it lol. Have to task manager to close it!

Erm actually.... I cannot even close it through task manager...... Says access denied. WIll try a new anti virus i think.

Yes, the free version is really awful. You either have to disable the 'protection shield' completely while playing, or uninstall it.

Bitdefender is much more horrible then Kaspersky or other paid anti-virus because it is the only one which can't be disabled to 100% and I am not sure why this is wanted from them.

I also would not suggest Windows Defender. Try out smth. like AVG Free Antivirus or others (but pls use google to check which are the top 3 of free AVs, same for paid ones).

Hello, i have made Whitelisted app on Bitdefender like you described but same crashes, frankly this is the first game with this issue, for me.
I am very sorry because i liked the game but this periodicaly crashed cut the taste.

Have you tried to disable Bitdefender completely, or tried another Anti-virus?
Bitdefender triggers a false positive and there is nothing I can do about it.
