stuck in woods with annoying music/minor spoiler

Is this a bug? If I take a wrong turn in the woods, the game plays this annoying little tune and I cannot move. I have to restart from the last saved game. It is to the point now that I cannot get to a door I need to open with a crowbar. (Yes I looked at a walkthrough because the whole having to restart the game thing seems really wrong to me.)

The same thing is happening to me. I downloaded the game this afternoon and started playing it, but I keep getting stuck in the woods, either at the three wish stones or when walking back to the Witches Stone. Hopefully someone out there can help us...

Is the tune actually the phone ringing ? Maybe the game is stopping you until you take the call and then you can move forward ?

Thank you. I feel a bit stupid now, but that did not make me think of a phone ringing. My age is showing....

Same here, now I feel relieved and stupid at the same time; well, it has happened a lot of times since I start playing adventure games... Thanks very much for the quick help!

Well, I have played lots of adventure games, but I was baffled in the very beginning of the game, in the first version, at the memorial, I heard the music, but I couldnt do anything,
So I started to try everything, Oh, its a phone, and I laughed, ofcourse!

In the updates Matt changed the first ringtone to a "normal one", but later in the coit you could walk forwards and see the phone on the floor, so from that moment you knew that that melody was a phone.
Very clever!

I think I am having same problem. The noise sounds more like an alarm to me. I look at the Security sign and suddenly, I get tis annoying sound.. I have purple phone in inventory which isn't ringing. I checked walkthrough. Phone is supposed to make a sound, but that phone doesn't seem to be ringing. I thought I sarted out with my own phone, but there's only the purple one. Oh, the only way I can get the noise to stop is leave the area, then go back. Hmmmm
